Occidental as a Safety/Match School

Hi!
I was looking for schools that would be match/safety for me
My SAT I: CR:680, M:740, W:720 (10)

SAT II: Chemistry:750, Literature:710, U.S. History:720

GPA: Weighted:4.4, UnWeighted:3.95

AP Scores: 5's on Lang, U.S., Environmental
4's on Chemistry, World
3 on Computer Science A

Essays: i really like them and I've gotten pretty good feedback

EC:
Leadership in 4 of my clubs and helped start 2 of them; I also compete in Speech and debate and have gotten some regional awards for that. Internship with a member of Congress

I am also applying to Stanford (REA), Columbia, Pomona, Rice, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, NYU, UNC Chapel Hill (oos), William and Mary (in-state)
My real issue is coming up with safety schools; my counselor said William and Mary would be a safety, but I was thinking of maybe applying to another public school like JMU to be safe. Do you think that Occidental would be a safety school? I already missed that deadline for interviews and probably won't be able to visit in the next month, in case that changes anything.

I don’t think that Occidental is a safety. It’s more of a match/high match, particularly if you’re going to be needing financial aid.

This thread is now obsolete, but to anyone viewing it: these stats do not constitute Oxy being a safety by any means. It’s getting to the point where I’d hardly call it a safety for anyone.
