I’m looking to go to either BU or Tufts for Occupational Therapy and I know these are extremely competitive. I’m wondering what my chances are… I am a student at UMass Amherst and I have a 3.77 GPA and am hoping to bring that up to about 3.80 (and pretty sure I can based on my future classes), as a Junior Undergraduate I got a position being an classroom aide to a young girl with autism for about 18-20 hours a week. I’ll be going to her IEP meetings, shadowing at the school, doing data collection on her behaviors, and implementing treatment plans. This summer I’ll be working as a behavioral therapist under a board certified behavior analyst and will be working one on one with children with autism and implementing their Applied Behavior Analysis treatment plans. I am the president and founder of the National Alliance on Mental Illness at my school, participate in Autism Speaks U, and Special Olympics. I’m going to hopefully have 40-100 hours shadowing an OT by my application. I will be doing an internship next semester through my senior year with autistic students planning curriculum on mindfulness and Montessori methods and implementing it with the students and will also be writing my thesis on that project and internship.
Sorry this is so long!!! What do you think my chances of admissions are if I give a great essay and have good recommendations?
