I'm a late scheduling sophomore and I was wondering if any current students had Liu or Chapman for Organic Chemistry 1 and can tell me which one is a better professor for the subject. I know that Ochem is a tough course no matter what but having a professor who can explain things better would really help my understanding. Thanks.

My son heard that Chapman is not a good teacher. Did you look at ratemyprofessors.com ?

I tried ratemyprofessors but I saw a mix of different ratings for both professors so I am still unsure of which one is better. Thank you for your help though!

I hate to burst your bubble but both of them are awful from what I hear. I didn’t have either one of them but Chapman came in and guest lectured in my class and we all left dumbfounded. Chapman is known for being incredibly difficult while Liu it seems is known as being a bad teacher of the material, but some of my friends used to sit in on Bandiks lectures because Liu basically replicates what Bandik does. Take Liu

Ok Thank you for the advice. I actually switched to Liu. Hopefully I can get into an ochem lab too.
