What did the second explanation say?

the problem said that Th underwent beta decay. therefore it changes the element.

uhh im pretty sure beta decay only does stuff with electrons.

only alpha decay can change the element.

Wait, which question are we talking about?

Eh, I'll just wait for scores. This ain't gonna be pretty.

doesn't seem like many people made it to the last section, which was pure physics :P

i got to it. I thought the physics was a piece of cake, and i havent taken physics. Im pretty sure pretty much that whole section was, can you read the graph and make predictions.

For the Th problem, it keeps the same atomic mass, 234, and gains a proton, making it P 234/91.

Another answer was concerning something going to uranium 235. The answer to that is alpha decay because it lowers the atomic number.

Someone needs to start a "I was a Victim of October ACT Science Rape" group on facebook!

There is a facebook group already, "I was raped by test form 67A"

Is there some kind of feedback that we can send to ACT? Maybe if a few million people say it was way harder than normal they'll do something

Holy crap! That was my test! I don't feel so "special" anymore!

hey BIGTWIX, what did you get for the answer with the D/ R/ whatever? haha i completely guessed on that one. (i think it was the very last one)

I got 65K, I think.

anyone that finished, *. I know no one that finished. I repeat, no one. Like those who got 33s their first time even said it was ridiculously hard. That enviromental science one sucked. Peat? Bogs? Swamps? * come on. That tested nothing but how fast you can go lol

Great, so what I'm hearing is that the last section of science, the part that no one got to, was relatively simple? Great. I was thinking "I don't remember any physics stuff," but then I remembered filling in like 10 answers in about three seconds before the proctor called time. Once again, great.

hahaha my ap physics teacher was my proctor. i wish i woulda known the last section was physics, would have been cake. I totally agree, ive dominated in every single science ive taken in high school, and science will easily be my worst section (unless i guessed all right lol).

It wasn't even that it was hard, it was that the time was impossible. I remmeber at number 17, i had about 15 minutes left. i was like omfg, cause there was like 4 more passages(graphs, w/e they're called) to digest

yeah i know of no one that finished the science...

Ya me too. Ive known of some people (who, no offense to them, are not the smartest ones, so i think they guessed alot). Those who i expected to do well (who are like applying to Harvard and have gotten 33s already) said that it was impossibly hard. One can only hope for a unbelievable curve.

I finished ;)

It was easier than the June one, for sure.

Curve baby curve...disco inferno!

Okay, by the sound of it I didn't understand the particle decay section after all. Crap.
