Oct 6 Sat Scores Are Out On Web

WAHOOO!!! I'm so relieved just to get my scores, and never have to deal with them again- until the subject tests this DEC :'( Anyway, my scores went up 120 points from before!!!! With very minimal studying. 1 practice SAT from the blue book in june, browsing through "underground SAT guide" 5-10 minutes each day for a month.

1960 ---->2080
esp. i'm happy about this:
M/CR 1290---->1390. A little bummed that i didn't make the 1400 mark, but that's okay!! I'm not applying to any HYPM schools
M 650----> 710
CR 640----> 680
WR 670----> 690
Essay: 8----8 (lol, my essay was terrible this time especially, i cannot craft an eloquent essay in 25 minutes)

I thought I did way worse in writing this time, but I didn't. Hurrah!! Just trying to give hope to the masses who got somewhat dismal scores... it is possible to improve (and for all of you "average" folks around here, remember, this is CC. Most of the time, the most obsessed academic students end up on here don't let other people's scores discourage you)

Here are my scores on PSAT and on SAT:

PSAT (2006)

Reading: 44
Math: 60
Writing: 50
Combined: 154 or about 1540

SAT (2007)

Reading: 650
Math: 780
Writing: 710 (essay: 12/12)
Combined: 2140

Hmmm... English is my second language. My dad thinks my Reading and Writing scores are too low. I think I made too many stupid mistakes on the Multiple Choices part, but I registered for the December session already, since I believe I can improve my scores significantly in the writing section.

This is the first time I took it, and I don't plan on retaking it. I'm happy with my scores as they are.

Critical Reading: 730
Math: 560 (low, but I don't really care)
Writing: 740 (essay:10)

so overall, 2030.

I just feel a little... bemused. I mean, I didn't study for the PSAT, where I got a 54 math. I didn't study for the March SAT, but pulled a 640 math. Then, I finally DID study for October, and math dropped to 610! And it felt so easy at the time! What?

My CR score went up 20 points. Writing, like math, dropped 30. My multiple choice subscore was better than March (76-->77) but my essay sucked more (10-->8).

So, 2130-->2090 :( but my superscore's gone from 2130-->2150, so that's good, and my CR has put me at least at the top of most of my school's mid-50% ranges.

I'm pretty happy.
M-700->750
CR-740->800
Writing-780->730

I did terribly! I bought the online study course, and I really put my heart and soul into this one. What did I do wrong?!

Math: May-500, June-610, October-610
Reading: May-630, June-620, October- 570
Writing: May-610, June-610, October- 670

What's wrong with me :( My number one only takes reading and math, and I didn't submit the 630 in reading because I thought I'd do so much better this time. :( I did submit the 620, but since I didn't improve on math at all, that actually brings my score down!

Best overall is 1900, I think I'll take it again in December... Hopefully someone will take it...

i did the SAME in math. 570. its depressing. i was so sure i was gonna do a lot better. at least i got 100+ more in reading. my superscore is 2010. still depressed about math.

Oh, I'm not aiming to get into HYPS or whatever. I just want to go to a pretty good liberal arts school where, you know, my high SAT score will cancel out my bad grades.

January:
740 Math
750 CR
760 Writing

October:
700 Math
740 CR
780 Writing

I fail at life for four reasons:
a) I went down in the two subjects that actually matter and up in the one that doesn't.
b) I plan on majoring in science, not liberal arts.
c) I didn't cancel my scores and should have left my intelligence to the admission deans' imaginations instead of proving that I'm an idiot. (I took it in January. January to October is a long time to improve. And I failed to.)
d) After I took the test, I thought I completely bombed the writing part since I didn't finish the essay, and did pretty well in math and CR. I guess I was wrong.

My score actually went down by thirty points from when I last took the test in Dec. 2006

Dec 2006:
800 Math
800 Writing
690 CR

In an attempt to improve my CR score, I retook the test this month and dropped a total of 30 points:

Oct. 2007
730 Math
730 Writing
800 Cr

Fortunately, what I wanted to improve shot up like crazy, so I have a cumulative score of 2400. But is it bad that I did worse overall the second time? (Math and Writing each dropped 70 points...how in the world does THAT happen?)

I'm posting this for my son:

Test 1 ==> Test 2 ==> This test
(note, he retook to get a good enough score to try and transfer to either USC or Virginia from Indiana--current college GPA is about 3.60)
They say they don't look at SATs that much--but he felt it was still important, since "what are your SAT scores" is the first or second question on both transfer applications.

CR 540 ==> 560 ==> 650 (yes!!!!!)
M 700 ==> 650 ==> 660 (doesn't matter)-will take the 700 for superscore
W 520 ==> 580 ==> 600 (nice to be at the 600-700 mark on all three)

Superscore (1600) 1240 ==> 1260 ==> 1350 (110 point improvement total and 90 point improvement on this test)
Superscore (2400) 1760 ==> 1840 ==> 1950 (190 point improvement total!!! and 110 point improvement on this test!!)

So much for those who say that you can't improve your score. He and I felt all along that is a bunch of nonsense. And thanks to xiggi, because to a large degree, he used xiggi's suggestions to improve.

Ya i'd be pretty upset with a 2400 superscore too!

When I saw my score I spit out out out the water I was drinking and said **** Yea about 20 times. I have a low GPA but I'll probably be able to go to a reputable college with my good SAT score. I got a 1240/1600, wrting I only got a 510 but none of the schools i'm applying to includet that.

pretty happy lol
600
570
570
first time for me :)

CR500
M800
W480
What the hell is going on?
Why I wasn't born in a Country that speaks English?!
learn english...

CR 710 --> 800!!! :)
M 720 --> 670 (why???? I thought I did SO well too! Like I was way more confident this time around but it dropped so much ><)
W 690-->740

I'm pretty happy ^^ but I still wonder what's up with the math score...

This is my first time post...and I have to concur with people who got a way lower math score this time around.

May SAT:
CR 720
M 730
W 680

October SAT:
CR 800
M 680
W 680

I actually wanted to improve my writing score...but my math score dropping 50 points?? Not sure what happened there.

right on prepstax3!
we both got 800 CR this time around and both dropped 50 points in math!

Great! Nice to see I'm not the only one. And to think I actually thought this math section was easier, and that the CR portion was tough? I burned out about the 8th or 9th section.

10/07
740 CR :mad:
800 M
800 W 11 Essay

WHATS WITH CR :D
