October 15 PSAT Discussion

hmm but doesnt encumbered mean to weigh down....it was like ___ abstruse allusions

was the "the way human beings relate to information" an answer to the watershed question?

The one that had the correct answer as lucid encumbered, I believe.

anyone know

rather than write or instead of to write? yea i put something to do with information changing with humans

i cant remember anyother question frmo that CR passage though...its kinda bugging me because i think i missed the rest of those questions

also was "foundation" an answer to a comic question (it was like what does basic mean in this)

and penetrating also means acute and one who is penetrating something is also showing keen understanding.

watershed- yeah that was the only plausible one.

i got that ingette.

what did you get for the last question of sec 1?

What I put:

The first example = how philosophical texts are ignored (think I got that wrong)
Watershed = change
Shift = giving less consideration to books
Desert Island = something about reading closely
Apartment dweller = worldly aware (?)

And yes I did put foundation as a replacement for base.

The CR was really long and tedious for me, so I don't specifically remember the questions, or what the passages were about. If you remind me, I can probably remember the story. Also, if answers sound familiar, I put them as answers haha.

I do remember most of the math ones with reminding =)

I agree with concept on all of those.

what were the other options for shift?

the first example - i think it was a contrast to what was said in the first sentence. I don't remember the phrasing though.
apartment dweller -worldly awareness
the last one -same idea.

@ debocena,

what did you put for the hiking club one?

for writing, did you guys get no error for the 2 problems with "Not carefully watching the clock.. blah blah" it was one of the last sentence ID problems. And also the problem "The work schedule was as meticulously prepared as it was supposed to be, blah blah blah resignations blah" .. for those 2 problems, i put no error :[

anyone remember any of the options for "shift" or f"irst example/erasmus"?

last question section 1-represent two different viewpoints

i think i put worldy aware atleast i remember that answer choice, it could also mean i thought about it alot and didnt put it

@concept= i also got the giving less consideration to books, and also desert island means reading carefully, but for the first exmaple i put how infromation has changed (was that even a choice), if it wanst i mustve put how the author is trying to contrast or something but i know i didnt put philosophical texts because that wasnt mentioned at all in the storyu

wait for the last question i thought i was to represent two different viewpoints, did you guys put give same idea to two differnt viewpoints ?

For the apartment dweller i put urban affluence

@ keeprolling: i said A for the clock one, i think. and on the test, for some reason, i remember it as "suppose" not "supposed". this could be wrong, though..

what did you guys put for the one about

people are now born with TV's
(something about privalege, birthright)
was it that people can now have a bigger viewpoint and know about world events?
