October 15 PSAT Discussion

LOL... okay there goes my hopes for breaking a 200.

i think "despite him being a far more eloquent speaker" is incorrect because it should be despite his being

the answer was that c is the smallest angle because AB was 1 and BC was 100, so that means segment CA has to be @ least 99 and less than 101 but it's still big. so c is always going to be small

i got II only. but i can't remember the question....just the answer X(

kscnoko I thought that the him was unnecessary and only added to the verbosity. Anyone else wanna share their opinion...

II only.

It was like if x is an integer, and 2x is divisible by 6, what must be true?

I. x is divisible by 6. 3 doesn't work.
II. x is divisible by 3: Prime factorizations of multiples of 6 are 2^x * 3^y.
III. x is odd. 18(2)

woho jackpot swim! Good way of looking at it ^^

yeah, although far more eloquent
is the answer.
i'm sure

I did a google online and find the phrase "Despite him being" common in use.

On the other I've never seen a construction like "Although far eloquent a speaker."

I don't know guys...

Google tends to give casual websites. Better break out an usage dictionary.

Kscnoko, PSAT/SAT writing questions often trick you in thinking that what sounds good to the ear is the correct answer when it's not..

does anybody remember the sentence completion question with "belied" as the second word??

Seriously everyone on here is freaking me out!!!!!

I was cool and relaxed during and after the test but then I came on here, and I can't even remember what I chose for most of my answers. I'm freaked out now. Oh well, commended looks pretty good right about now.

yes! belied is totally what i put!

does anyone remember the full sentence w/ effusive...? i dont remember putting that so...

powerbomb- the one about the volcano? i put belied.

ya i chose that one because belie means to misrepresent!

it was either effusive or supercilious. the guy showed respect for someone. I think supercilious is right.

What was the question? I remember belied as a choice, and I don't remember what the question was; therefore, I don't know if I put it.

Fluffy1: I'm pretty sure it was supercilious.

I put subdued, just sounded right I guess.

whats a 10 wrong on the CR, 4 wrong on math, and 7 wrong on Writing?

@debo: effusive was the answer

the sc was about how the guy was temperate, how he never showed too much emotion, he was not...effusive.
