1998 is the difference. a1 + (n-1)d. to find nth term. do a simple subtraction.

and also...what about the "what year would it be for the 3:30 1 mile time"? 2017 or 2019?

2017.

everyone keeps saying supercilious but what's wrong with magnanimous? that's what I put, and the dictionary backs me up.

2017 because with each 21 years it increases 10 minutes

I got 2017 for 210 seconds because it goes down 10 seconds every 21 (?) years.

how many no errors (E's) did you guys get for the sentence errors section?

What is the curve like for the PSAT? What do you think it will be like for this one?

essential 2-3 not too many

wouldn't '54 to '75 actually be 22 years counting both '54 and '75?

ESSENTIAL: I think I may have gotten 1-2 no errors overall, I believe I had 2

what did you guys get for the debate question it was a writing question and some of the choices were of articulation and competed on every possible occasion. Also was the error from the puzzle question A because it should be it seem

I believe it's no error for the debate question. "argumentation" is a word and is correct.

ya it should be seem and that one it should be competed in/at every possible occasion

I don't think that a curve matters on the PSAT, considering that there are cutoff scores for each state in order to be eligible for National Merit....
Also, looking at the practice PSAT scoring guide, it's harsh. Critical reading seems to give the smallest amount of leeway, while math is the harshest.
I just realized, it's not just 80 - (# wrong x 10).
4 wrong on critical reading is a 72 when you do the proper calculations

I put the same thing as CollegeAddiction for both but one of my smart friends said that provided on was grammatically so I'm just making sure

Any tips for someone who is going to take the PSAT next year?

debate had no error. I had two no's.

magnanimous doesn't work- we need a negative word.

think of it this way: I competed on every possible occasion, or I competed at every possible occasion. I competed on the meet or I competed at the meet. Play with the words a little to get your answer =/

tips?

practice practice practice. see the patterns.
