October 18 PSAT Discussion

let's start the official scores discussion

I didn't get my scores yet, but does anyone know if these are right?

Brain passage -- strength of response
Brain passage -- incomplete sensory data
Brain passage -- Neurological -> psychological
Forten passage -- commerce
Forten passage -- correspondence with clients
Forten passage -- Massive Census -- shows balance of interests

Btw, how many no errors were there in the writing section? =P

So long ago...I really do not remember.

strength of response is right.
i think incomplete sensory data is correct
neuro > phych is also right

yeah, i think i got everything you have haha.

I disagree on the "strength of response" question; "flexibility of the brain" made more sense in context because of the text's frequent focus on how the brain was able to adapt despite the "incomplete sensory data" referenced in the other question.

I believe I put "neurological -> psychological," although I frankly cannot recall the answers or my thought process.

Otherwise, I agree with your answers on the Forten passage.

Has anyone actually received scores (or answer sheets) for the October 18 test?

Although I took the Wed test, I just saw the PSAT score sheets on my college counselor's room today ... you have no idea how the animalistic urge in me nearly ran in that room to grab mine and run. I'm pretty sure we'll see our scores tomorrow ... so so nervous.

oh god...i got a 196, and i'm soooo disappointed :(
The vocab seemed harder than usual.

sorry, flare :(. though that isnt such a bad score....did you by any chance also get the test booklet with your answers? i want to know some things ....

Man, I'm getting it back tommorow. Gonna be the results to my Junior year test. Can't wait... hopefully I did ok.
Got 212 last year, so hopefully this year pushed that up by a good 20 points... hopefully :$

If anyone wants info on this - I have the answer sheet and the test booklet

anyone know what the national percentiles for this test were

@vant-sant: thank you, and while i realize this is a pretty good score (95th percentile) my SAT of 2100 made me expect at least like a 200 for commended. And yes, the original test booklet, with all my markings and stuff, came with it.

so
69 on writing = 97th (3 wrong, 0 omit)
80 on cr = 99th. (1 wrong, 0 omit)
80 on math = 99th (0 wrong/omit)

kinda annoyed about the writing score
lol

yeah last year as a sophomore i had the (mis)fortune of doing rather well...bleh. flare, bsdber, or anyone else whos gotten it back- do you mind if i pm with really annoying questions?

I got 169 over all. I was so disappointed. It was very low.

good job, music!
our school's giving them out thursday
