October 2009 SAT Scores - ED

If we are applying ED, how do we submit these scores? Is there a way to directly report them on the day of the test? Help, please.

You don’t say where you are applying. Almost all colleges with a Nov 1 ED app deadline accept October test scores by regular delivery even if they arrive after the app deadline. You should order score sent by no later than when test score is released on-line. Note, many colleges with ED Nov 1 app deadline even take the Nov test although some of those limit that to SAT IIs.

Would this apply to EA as well?

I can only tell you what D is planning to do. She will send current ACT scores and the day the October ACTs come out, she will send them as well. She will want to look at them first, of course. This is the best we can come up with given the timing. If the colleges ignore the better scores, maybe they will take them into account during the RD round.

It should apply to EA also. You can check with your target school’s admission office. I’m sure they get that kind of question all the time. Generally schools would rather have more testing info than less, as long as it’s reasonably within their decision timeframe. Note that the ACT says they don’t want schools picking the highest subscores between test dates, although that’s okay with the SAT.

thank you.

October tests scores are available Oct. 29th on-line. They will be sent out on Nov. 6. This is acceptable for most ED/EA applications.

SO if I am planning to apply ED with a Nov 15 deadline,
would I be able to take an SATII on nov 7, and still be able to submit the score (late)?

If the answer is that it depends on the school, do I have to contact admissions to find out?? I don’t see anything about this on my ED school’s website.
