October 2010 ACT Reading Thread

i got hybrid tea leavs

shruby roses for the 1100ad rome or something?

what was the question linger?

also what was the answer for the one like “seeing an airplane in the telescope” something to do with embarrassing mistake?

linger–it was it is a poor judgement made by the observer

and the rose question was about 16th century roses or something
so hybrid leaves, can someone confirm that?

I put something like It’s an error in judgment or something…

Yeah I confirm the error by the observer.

No I think those were two different questions:

one was about the rose revolution and it has to do with hybrids being created or something and then one asked about what kind of roses would one encounter some time in the past which was hard and shrubby roses.

also anyone remember one where it asked which proved that Rome was short on roses and the answer was “that they began to grow them themselves”

Sorry if this sounds all like gibberish but its what I remember :)

Ya linger, that’s what I put!

verbatim in the passage, you are correct about why we knew supply was not meeting demand.

The 1100 AD one was “winter bloomers” or something like that. I remember its the one with winter in the name. Its winter because the Romans devised hot water systems which allowed them to grow roses in the winter.

^i put that they started importing?

They had already been importing roses but that wasn’t enough so they had to grow their own. and @cristopher, I have no idea what your talking about with the winter bloomers maybe I just dont remember.

wait what was the 1st thing that happened in chronological order. I put that the lady heard about the story, but i was unsure. I can see how it could be Clementine, but can anyone confirm with complete confidence?

^i was almost 99% sure it was the clementine

I think i put the answer with personal connection. does anyone remember the actual question?

@cristopher: I also got “winter bloomers” for one.

And I put Clementine, but I was running out of time during that section, so who knows.

Ah shoot… At least -1 for me now…and I don’t remember getting winter bloomers

do people take different tests on the same day? like depending on your form code. Because i didnt have any of these questions

i had a couple comments

 1. It wasnt negotiation, im entirely sure. The passage CLEARLY indicated that there was no negotiation, or bargaining. It was more like-the guy who bought it was excited-since it reminded him of his childhood-but they guy at the counter could see through his excitement even though the buyer wouldnt reveal it.

Also, what was teh concensus on the strictly chronological problem?

winter blooms was not an aswers
