October 2010 Math SAT Thread

It was 2 simplybigrole. 4500 was an answer for the percent of transportation out of 30,000 dollars.

The side opposite to the 30 degree angle is 1
the side opposite to the 60 degree angle is rad3
the side oppsite to the 90 degree angle is 2

[30-60-90 and 45-45-90 Triangles](http://www.krellinst.org/uces/archive/resources/trig/node20.html)

I didn’t have this question.

What did you guys get for the total hours of doing homeworks? 180 days something-something.
I think it was 4500.

Dice 100% sure is 1/18

thanks Dorkoa-o

i put 1/108, but it’s wrong, b/c order does not matter. Thats 2x (probably 3) so far.

One answer was (A) sixteen, I forget the equations, but there were two of them w/ absolute value. So the product could not equal 16. Am I right?

The grid ins:

through systems of equations, he bought 15 $1 shirts. That was the answer, right?

I think I got like 1000 or something for the days with homework.

For the question with the four circles within the square and each had their center marked and there was a diagonal that connected the bottom left circle to the top right:
I got the length of the line to be 8 sqrt 2 since each circle had a radius of 4?

yes jolly 8 radical 2 was what i got too. It was the diagonal of the square.

Wow I’m kind of glad I got the math experimental now (at least I hope I did…). But, with the right cylinder question, it was A. 4 right?

8 rad 2 was the answer

@Simplybigrole: It was x = 2.
g(m+2) = 12 and g(x) = x(x-1)
So g(m+2) = (m+2)(m+2-1) = 12
= (m+2)(m+1) = 12
= m^2 + 3m + 2 = 12
= m^2 + 3m - 10 = 0
= (m+5)(m-2) = 0
It specifically said m was a positive number so:
m-2 = 0
m = 2

Experimental.

15 paperbooks?

borkborkbork: it was 15 $1 paperbacks

attak you are right. damn stupid misatake

Oh my god, I put 10 instead of 15 because I used the wrong variable for my answer. I really hate my life right now… haha

webass, how is that experimental? that was my only grid in.

yes 8sqrt(2). and 4 for cylinder.

imo the math was much harder than usual. what sucks is that it has the harshest curve. I guessed on 2 (1 of them is wrong for sure!) and I got one other one wrong.

What was the question involving x^-y = 1/8 and y^z = 243…

7^ was the answer

why do I not recognize most of the questions you are talking about?

x + z. z was 5 and x was 2 so 5+2=7

for the 5 5 6 triangle, was 6 an answer? I may have put that by accident.
