October 2010 Math SAT Thread

yeah, i think the pi wire was experimental.

that entire fill in the blank section was too easy.

Did you guys get 1/108 for the three six-sided dice question?

1/54 was the answer

yeah i got 1/108

I thought July was 6000 less & I had 1/54 for the dice one

I got 1/108

What was the area of that trianle? I ****ed up math.

Anyone know if the section with the triangle with two sides equaling 5 and the 3rd side equaling 6 was the experimental? I did bad on that section, 3 omitted.

Can someone confirm the list of my answers on page 3?

Also, the fill-in with the obtuse triangle, was the answer any number greater than 10?

Agree with 1/108

I got 1/54. Can someone elaborate on the pi wire thing? I thought I had an experimental math section, but I don’t remember that.

What was the triangle area?

Also I think it asked for the entire hall b which was 225?

The die one was 1/54 you can get 17 6 ways and 18 6 ways so it is 12/216 which is 1/54.

1/108 is wrong

the dice can go four ways

[first dice, second dice, third dice]

6 6 6
5 6 6

6 5 6

6 6 5

How is it 24 combinations? I put 12…

what was the LAST question in the fill in section. the one with x^2 + 4abx + b^2??? and was this section or wasnt it an experimental…

woojae, you’re forgetting about 18. You only listed the combinations that add up to 17.

@ webass 4 x 3 x 2 x 1

i have 6 6 6 up there lol

That’s wrong woojake.

IT’s supposed to be 1/6^3 + 1/6^3. The “or” in the question indicates addition.

@SoulReaver
i guess on 12.
