October 2011 SAT General Discussion

it was eccentric and paranoid because he was paranoid of him attacking

@burgerking316
I put compelling/formulaic

i put eccentric and paranoid

Pretty sure on both of them: He was obviously eccentric (throughout the passage)
He was paranoid that the guy was going to beat him up.

Bewildered means confused, so that is wrong.

biographers = spy or archaeologist? i changed to archaeologist to spy at the last minute

Luckily, I did a debate on nuclear power in 11th grade, so that passage was easy.

what was the handling one, with the choice shaping too. i thought for sure it was shaping, b/c she was shaping the life of ella banks

Drummer211, it was handling i think

@burgerking, you are right about corroborate. I despised that question because it wasn’t fair to ask the test-taker to know that. Also, I put compelling/formulaic because I felt it went with stock characterization

reposting question:
for the last passage about the activist woman, was the last several lines talking about her complexity, political activism, or her candor? i thought it was one of the three but put her complexity :X

I was stuck between paranoia and bewildered. I put paranoia as well.

was it disappointment?

yeah there was
it was plural in the beginning and then singular later

Of course my experimental was CR, 3 times, 3 CR’s…

I also remember spy, handling, and shaping

@sabreeshockey12 no that was a different question, but shaping was the answer to the question ur referring to

The last sentence of the passage was something to the effect of:

“I just wanted to be friends.”

What were the options to the question?

One was shaping another was handling. Archaeologist is correct and compelling/formulaic is correct.

repentance

disappointment

devotion

and was recondite an answer, what was that for?

I thought it was disappointment rather than repentant because he was disappointed that there were issues between he and his roommate
