October 2011 SAT Math International

Are we allowed to discuss answers? o.o I know people say that the embargo has been lifted but I don’t remember my proctor mentioning anything about being allowed to discuss answers after a certain time? >< I don’t want to do it if it’s illegal :P

i agree with judaskiss. But I remember the answer choices were 2 3 8 9 27

I put 2 for the answer.
@mochaswirl I think we are able to discuss now cause twh whole world have already finished the test

So if we put 2 as answer we will got 8^x=9^y which x and y is any possitive integers
so it’s sound possible right?

I got that wrong the answer was a=3 feeling so gutted T.T

the ans was 8

Guys, what about the question: which one is odd? what option did you guys choose from A, B, C, D and E?

I don’t remember the option but I think it was either A or B that I bubbled.

What about the last question of the last Math section ?
a^2 √b / b√a equal :
A. ?
B. ?
C. ?
D. ?
E. ?

I think this question is tricky :(

^ Pretty sure I got E for that one. You had to change all of the square roots into exponents and then use exponent laws.

I’ve been asking this for a bit, so sorry to to repeat, but does anybody remember the question about the circle inside the shaded square? which section was that on/what other questions where in that section?

Can you explain to me, please ? I havent seen any SAT math question having rational exponents before. Anyone got this right ?

I have drawn the question with the cubes. This is why the answer is 70: http://i.imgur.com/HUkeL.png

I only hope I put down the right thing… xD

Darn, I hoped the section with the cubes would be experimental :(

@judaskiss26: how do you know the answer was 3?I don’t know for sure If a,x,y are positive intergers then the answer is 3, if a,x,y are positive numbers then the answer is 2.

1 is wrong because 1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1=1
IF a x y positive NUMBERS, then a can be 2 and x must be non-interger.

If a x y positive INTERGERS,then a can be 3 because
(3^3)^x=9^y
3^3x = 3^2y
x=2, y=3
You created a thread a bout consolidation of CR so you got all SC right right?So why would you upset?

@amslearning: i think the answer is (a^3/b)^1/2

@Ilovecolgate I am upset because I want 800 in math. T.T

A^X(3) = 9^Y

3^3x2 = 9^3

Guys do you remember for the second section that had the cube
was the answer of last 4 question
17)B
18)C
19)C
20)C

I don’t remember if I put them exactly like that,but do you remember the last 4 question answers?

@AmsLearning I tried out number and got the answer as D.

I am sure I am right coz I tried out numbers.

Guys do you remember in the grid in there was a 1
and 100 as answers.

Also for the problem that was 1050 it was that square that is made of triangle you had to break down that figure.

@genericmath
yes i remember putting down 1 and 100…
Also do you guys remember the question where you have a grid and you have to find the minimum steps?
Is it 5?
