October 2012 MATH ACT

yeah so i got 2 wrong so far…

Nope it was 17 for spin problem (1+2+3+4+5+6)/6 then multiplied by 4 equals 17

what was the time when they ran in the same direction around the circle?

orange: i put 15

15
That was the least common multiple. (^_^)/

did u get it right?

ACT36plz… um, that equals 14. o.e

orangecream, I got 15?

Act36plz: Your method gives you 14, not 17, as the answer. (3.5*4=14). I got 14 for that one btw.

Oh facepalm 4*3.5 = 14 great…

@orangecream i believe it was 15

“Nope it was 17 for spin problem (1+2+3+4+5+6)/6 then multiplied by 4 equals 17”

Um, no it doesn’t… it = 14

My brain is fried. Does anyone remember the actual spinner problem? I mean the numbers and what it was asking. I can’t remember 14 and 60% and am worried I did them wrong.

The spin problem had a spinner with 6 sections (each equal). The question asked what the average score would be after 4 spins. So you find the average for one spin and multiply that by 4. 14 :)

You mean the one where the spinner was spinned 540 degrees (clockwise)?

i think the first answer to the spinny thing was 6

what did you guys get for the question about the base and yearly base
it was the last question for that problem, asking for the difference of two companies (i think A and C)

choices were something like
0.02s
10,000
abs(10,000-0.02s)
abs(10,000-0.04s)
and i forgot the last one lol

abs(10,000-0.02s) (I think… I forget what the question was, so it might be -0.04)

mashima, the last one was something like 10,000-0.022s

I put 10,000 - .02s^

10,000 - 0.022
