October 2012 MATH ACT

It’s equal to 2pi in circumference not area.

I was going fast and instead of area I calculated circumference and subtracted one of them so I put 6pi :’( hopefully only one I got wrong… I better not have made any stupid mistakes

Wait…nevermind…that’s radians. WHY DID I CONVERT TO RADIANS??? omg -.- yeah, i got that wrong then.

what was in the 7/8 -7/8 problem?

Always Guess On Last 8 Crew

Ah… I really hope I got a 29+

Does anyone remember exactly how the pentagon problem was worded? Im sure i got the right answer when I was taking the test but now everyone is confusing me.

What will e the scoring for this section? -1 = 36 or 35?

-1 = 36 is my guess. Definitely harder than September’s math section for me and I got -1 and got 35.

I got +/- 2*root(2)/3 because if u use inverse cos on -1/3 you get the degree angle 109.47 which when u use sin on get .942809 which is the answer. But u get two, one positive in the 2nd quardrant and a negative in the 3rd quadrant

Anyone get these answers?:

abs(10,000-.02s)
area of circle = 6pi = ~19
Union of set A and B, answer was D or E (no overlap)

I got the first one
Do u mean the area of the 4 circles on the quadrilateral? I got 3pi fr that
I didnt get a union at all. I got (-7,3) reason being the question states abs(x+2)<=5. Infinity would be way to large cause its abs.

No, area of the spinner circle for the board game. Asked for circumference.

3 = R, D = 6, Circum = 6pi = ~19 (C)

For the union question I put them both on a plot but they weren’t overlapping. Was it supposed to be just blank since they both don’t coincide? I basically plotted the 2 equations…

that union thing i put E

sooo curve predictions on this one?

so to verify
pentagon problem- 72
solution set- [-7,3]
spinner circumfrence- 19
Base salary/commission- $8000
triangle translation- quadrants 1/4
coordinate problem w/ 16 sq rt 5 distance- 40,20

also, for the question with the arithmetic sequence thing, was the answer 6 or 7?

What was the one near the end asking you about one of the points on the line. One of the answers was really big like (12,39) or something. I’m pretty sure that wasn’t one of the answer choices but there were like 3 big numbers as answers.

last one was 16, because its squareroot will give your 4 so youll get the same answer as the above system.

Does anyone happen to remember what letters the answers for the last few questions were?
I ended up just bubbling in “B” for all of them >:P but would like to know if my random guessing was at all accurate. Thanks!

60 was E ( 16)
