I only skimmed it, but Wikipedia’s article on [spindle checkpoints](Spindle checkpoint - Wikipedia) does not mention prophase-metaphase (as far as I saw). However, it does say that the “cell cycle is blocked at the metaphase-to-anaphase transition,” and that this checkpoint was named the “Spindle Assembly Checkpoint.”

@yjkimnada

Almost always an 800.

In that article they mention that colchicine was used to discover the checkpoint. But I don’t know if they added the colchicine after prophase. This was a bad question on many levels. It clearly wasn’t intended to be difficult. Also, the checkpoint allows for anaphase after the chromosomes are properly aligned on the spindle apparatus, but that assumes the apparatus was already formed.

What was the answer to the one (if took Biology E), first question, which of the following is not like the others, and they gave you like snake, alligator, frog, …etc.

I took E too and I think I got that wrong although it was a simple question… the answer was somewhere back in previous posts…

@LoveA2Trig frog because it’s an amphibian and the rest are reptiles. Literally from the PR book lol

I got a 710 on Bio M when I took it…Is it worth retaking it? Because I’m not too happy with the score…

@swimmerman. How do you know you got a 710 when we just took the test yesterday?

It’s not over yet guys.

Gallbladder? Motor or sensory cut. I put motor nerve cut to gallbladder. Many on an older test forum agree. But there is still dissent.
I put C for question 100 on gene differences. bacteria plant may be different from each other.
II only for number 99 in gene difference lab?
COX gene for comparing humans?

I have a feeling I got the colchicine one wrong. I think it may be anaphase. It was a stupid question anyway.

Differentiated cell can create clone?
Animals intake vitamins from environment?
1/16 for spotted coat - it was a mendelian question with dihybrid cross

Any others people aren’t sure about???

It seems like these bio tests favor E over M. There was hardly anything on the small stuff.

The colchicine question specifically stated that colchicine is responsible for “forming” microtubules. Since microtubules form in prophase, prophase is the answer. You can’t even start anaphase without microtubules.

I chose motor. Sensory nerve receive stimuli from outer environment and transmit the signal to CNS, while motor nerve receive signal from CNS and act upon the impulse. The question asked how to make sure that gallbladder acts upon receiving impulses from the brain so I think motor one is right.

Got 800
i thought i got about 5-6 wrong…
maybe there were some incorrect answers in this thread

I also got an 800
I beleive the curve is really generous this time :D

I was really surprised I got a 790… Guess some of the answers in this thread were wrong

offical sat tests for bio sat 2 ?
can anyone send me the link??

800 for me.

I know for sure I got at least one wrong, probably 2. Maybe 3 for good measure.

Wow, wlsnehf 5-6 wrong for 800! Can you tell us which ones you think you got wrong. Be specific. I remember the questions well. If you really did get that many wrong that will totally change conventional thinking on the nature of the bio curve.

I’m pretty sure some of the answers in this thread are wrong…
I missed the genetic drift question and 2 questions about thyroxine.
I’m still not sure about the vitamin question and the pine tree question…
If I got all those wrong, there’s no way I would get 800…

Hmm, I think they are mostly right. Vitamin was animals need to intake from environment. Pine tree was water evaporation. Thyroxine? Do you mean Parathyroid experiment? It was decrease for the first two then body would do stuff to achieve homeostasis for the third one.

3 questions I got wrong for sure
but the last two, not so sure

did anyone take E?
