***OCTOBER 2013 - Biology E/M***

I believe the scale scores are determined before administration. The scores are not dependent on the test-takers that day.

I think I put the tight junctions for epithelial cells, but that was just a guess

@santaman1 No, curves are predetermined based on how the College Board assesses the difficulty of the test. If the College Board later decides that a question was unreasonable, they might remove it. But other people’s performance does not really factor that much.

Pretty sure it was cilia for that one

@santaman

I had the same thinking you thinking that cells in the gut would have villi so to maximize surface area, but in the question the answer was tight junctions which I knew was also true but some reason I thought villi was more right.
Then I remembered the answer choices didn’t have villi, it was flagellated cells which is similar structure to villi but are structures used for locomotive. I got tricked like you :(

I think that was one was extracellular matrix.

Anyone remember what they got for the dihybrid cross question?

I don’t believe that the curve is predetermined… How can the college board extrapolate how hard the test is going to be before we even take it? That being said What is a 77 raw?

Which one? There were several.

I think I got the epithilial one wrong. It’s not extracellular matrix.
The answer is tight junctions. Look up intestinal epithelium on wikipedia.

Also, it’s not cilia. Villi are not cilia.

jy, I’m not sure what the process is for SAT II, but for SAT I they use the experimental sections to get a good idea of how difficult a set of questions was.

Ahh I think it was if you cross Tall (hom. dom.) white with dwarf red, how many dwarf pink do you get?

0%, because you can the red flower will always give an R allele, meaning the offspring could only be pink (Rr).

thanthan

I think I put CO2, do you remember the question?

Well if a experimental section in the sat 1 determines the scaled score, then since there’s no experimental section in sat 2 it is not scaled in a same fashion.

I think it was with the Calvin cycle. Also, the one right after that I put CO2 again… it was like something with producers…

Also for the molecular lab I just don’t remember putting rRNA down… I think for the first one I put down CO… Something

Is it true that the ecology curve is generally more leniant?

For all those curious about their potential score, here is a link to the Official College Board scale for a released Bio M exam:

Scale would only be slightly higher for E. ALSO, refer people to this post when they ask “what would a score of X be?”

Glycogen is stored in liver, insulin and glucagon is produced in pancreas
