October 6 SAT CR passages

can you post it here? i cant open it.

&1&2, are u sure facetious and earnest assertion went with the psychic passage? because i remember it as being with the candy passage. i think the other question to the psychic one was the one where the answer was sardonic. can someone clarify?

facetious and earnest assertion went with the candy passage and sardonic went with the psychic one

yeah, and the other psychic question was the charlatan one.

For the dual history passages, anyone remember the question that had one answer choice as “motivational” or something like that. It talks about passage 2 in some way that I can’t remember. Sorry I’m being so vague…I can only remember having lots of trouble on that question and that the answer I put had something to do with motivation.

for the question “hanging pics on the wall/album”, i cant remember the answer clearly. i wonder if there’s one about something about order? or order appeared in the passage? well if there wasn’t order in answers, i can make sure that i chose the right one…

hanging the pictures on the wall versus putting them on an album was something about how it was important to have the pictures on display constantly. i bet you got it right, it was pretty obvious.

i second andrea.. ^^in the hanging pictures question. it was one of the easiest.
you could not get it wrong.

well~i’m a strange ppl…i can’t find whether a question is easy or not…i hope i was right..but if i fail in this one, my #wrong will increase to 3…all silly questions:overabundunce, evening, and this one…
but i am sure that the tone question is restrain and another is chalatan and another is flowery/unambiguous
~
well…but the answer andreaaaa posted is not complete…how about the other 10+ question? my goal is just 750~~can i still reach it if i get 5 wrong?

i think it was flowery/unambiguous because the language was indeed flowery and the unambiguous fact referred to what the author later stated… that despite being choco/candy factories, they are still factories and pollute as hell.

I’m sure the question about the candy factories should have been facetious/earnest assertions. The writing was not really ‘flowery’ to the full extent of the word. Flowery prose is full of adjective strings, dependent clauses, neverending sentences. The 2nd passage doesn’t satisfy any of those requirements. The author was being silly, ranting, kind of throwing around ridiculous phrases (short, not long and flowery!) without much premeditation – being facetious! Also, afterwards, the author was not giving ‘facts’, but rather personal opinions. There was definitely some subjectivity in his criticism of candy factories. So his statements were assertions, not facts.

what’s the full answer of that question?

and why do you think the tone is wist ful? i believe that restrain is correct~anyway

I put restrained too, but wi5tful is correct most probably, cause it is also used to describe longing and the physicist was longing to add a personal touch to physics and science.

Hey would anyone have any idea where the history articles actually came from, like authors or anything, or a specific quote anyone remembers or special word so I can google it?

someone posted the link, but i cant open it. if you can, can you post it here?

I can see parts of it? Why can’t you open it, because you dont have an account (because I dont have one either) or some other issue?

Also is that the first passage that was more optimistic about history, or the second which was more skeptical?

some other issue, i think. my computer is a little messed up. and i think thats the first passage.

what was the one that asked what the authors disagreed on for the history passages?
