Ok
I sent in my Early Decision application to Upenn, and received my ID number (im international, so no Social Security number). I also took the October 8th SAT I
the first time I have taken the new SAT. The scores werent out when I mailed in the application, so I just added a footnote saying I would send the scores via Collegeboard as soon as they were released. Originally, they were supposed to be released on October 24th
then later they said the 29th
and then, November 5th. Well I still dont have my scores, and now my account just says that scores are not yet available. It seems that everyone else has gotten their scores, the only ones who havent are the seven of us who took the test at a particular testing center.
So I wrote Collegeboard, explaining that I needed my scores, and that I had an Early Decision application to UPenn. They didnt reply, so then I called them. I got a man at Customer Services who said he would file a case for me. Then a day later, Collegeboard replied to my email, saying that my scores hadnt yet been processed, and to check back to their website every week to see if my scores had been posted yet.
This is fine, but I need my scores really urgently. And it strikes me as strange that only the seven of us who took the test at that center havent had our scores yet. Do scores ever get lost?
I took the old SAT once last January, but I didnt report the score on my application, since there was no space to include the results of the old SAT. However, I did send a rush report of it to UPenn. Will UPenn just use my old scores, since I sent an official copy? Should I send an official letter stating that my October the 8th scores arent out, and that Collegeboard just says to keep checking? And if I finally do get my scores around late November, will it be too late at that point to send in a rush report? Will this be a problem for my Early Application?

They will be using both old and new SAT scores this year, so yes, your old reported scores will be looked at. They didn't have a specific space for old scores but you could have put it in the math/verbal/writing boxes and simply left writing blank...doesn't really matter though, because the reported score is the most important

They allow Nov. scores to be rushed for ED, so as long as they are there by the time Nov. scores are generally released (11/21) you should be fine. Just rush them as soon as they come...and in the meantime keep bugging collegeboard.
