how many mc questions can you get wrong to get an 800 if you make a 12 essay?

@soccer4921: probably -1 is safe. on this test, maybe -2 is a 780-790 with a 12 essay, 770-780 with an 11.
Correct me if I'm wrong, though, folks - I may be too optimistic.

for the foster one it was "out of" I think => "by"

about the essay, one of the illustrations I used was about a current famous person (president Bush). I know this is risky suicidal and everything, but I freaked about because I was running out of time and couldn't think of another example from history/ literature. Would that harm my essay score very much?

^He's not famous, but rather infamous now :"P and hopefully you get a reader that doesn't hate Bush.

if u guys read the Q i made up, "they/their/them" is not ambiguous, because somewhere in between OUT OF and THEY ,there is a word THEM,not underlined. so THEY is OK!

yea it wasnt ambiguous.
the answer is
BY playing songs.... so simple

I agree with spideyunlimited. the problem was with the 'foster....of them' part.
About the essay if u had a really good thorough first example and a not so good, not so thorough example, does that really hurt your score. i think my intro and conclusion were good but my second example was kinda weak.
aboout the experimental section, it was definitely the first one. It was way easier.

@shiomi: in fact I mocked Bush a bit in my essay lol, so hopefully I get a reader that really hates Bush.
But I mean seriously how much can doing so harm my essay score?

If I remember right I put no error just because it's clarifying what it's talking about. It's not redundant, just clarifying IMO. Brazil is the most populous in terms of population, AND the largest in terms of size.

^a pronoun can be ambiguous even if the other option wouldn't make sense

for example, "When humans feed dogs they bark."

The SAT would call "they" an ambiguous pronoun.

^^i dont remember about that

it may have been on my experimental section now that i think about it...

i have a question.... i sort of felt that the writing was a bit harder than the practice tests in the blue book.... would the curve be a bit better on this test? ex. i get 1 wrong with a 12 essay and i can still get an 800? thank you all.
btw idk if its a good idea to discuss questions i think it said not to in caps.
you rebels. :p

in case the brazil q is still bothering you, I just got a similar question today from CB's Official SAT Question of the Day:

Larger in area than Europe, the icy continent surrounds the South Pole is called Antartica. No Error

The answer is obviously C, which means there's nothing wrong with "larger in area"

=> correct answer for brazil q: E

all i remember is 14 on the last section is C

ahahaha, @amby,

YES! lol, that was the television one, there wasn't a subject in the original sentence! :D

Just a reminder:
no posting questions or their parts in any form (see the sticky).
This is no joke.

the no.14 in section 10 the choice c is that when ones.... have potential or with potential??

have i think.

how do you guys remember anything from the test? i forgot as soon as i got in the car...
