My GC told me not to take the SAT more then twice...i took it twice already, happy with my first score, dissapointed i didnt improve on my second, but i wanna take it a third time just to improve and lock in some schools.

Will taking it a third time hurt me? GC said it would, but i dont really see how. The applications put 3 spots for scores anyway, so whats the problem?

I think you should take it as many times as you need to when you know you can improve the next time. But I think the "supposed" limit is 3 because you dont want colleges to think that your life = taking the SAT over and over again.

Go ahead and take it a third time. No college that I know of frowns upon taking an SAT for the third time. Make sure you REALLY prepare for this third test, however, or your score may turn out to be the same or even drop.
