off-campus activities?

Hey all you Gents and Gals ! :)

I wasjust wondering if anyone could give me any information on the strictness of boarding schools in regards to off campus activities, like a concert, or a trip to the park, or a store, things like that. It's just I get "cabin fever" real easy, ans no matter how much I like a place, I can't be cooped up there for too long or i'll lose my mind.
Does anyone else suffer from the same affliction?

bump
:)

out of school now so gonna be really bored u guys.....lol

I know at Middlesex they take a bus into Concord every day, and a bus into Boston every weekend. I know at Lawrenceville you can walk to this cute restaurant called Fedoras. When I visited Andover people I saw students when I was out to dinner, and at Deerfield you can leave, but people usually don't (supposedly). So I think at most schools, you can go off-campus, but you usually have to be back by a certain time, so concerts may not be so easy. I'm sure it varies from school to school, too!

Depends on the school, they all have different policies. At my school there was a list of permissions that parents had to circle yes/no for on whether or not you could do it..walking into town/taking a taxi/driving with someone under 18/ etc.. Pretty much if you could find a way to get off campus, you could go as long as it was within curfew - which was maybe 6:00pm? on weekdays/Sundays and 11pm? on Fridays/Saturdays - and had the right permissions. Oh, and weekends the school had chaperoned off campus trips and shuttles to wherever you wanted in town.

Dazzlezzz, where are you going???
