My daughters public school presidents vowed to expel people for breaking the law, last fall.
They were off campus. I don’t think anyone disagreed with his decision.
But I don’t think they found more than a few instigators, that were actually students.
( I expect more were high school kids & dumb ones at that, havent they heard of cell phone cameras?)

Residential colleges are a “target rich” environment for criminals. The student demographics typically skew toward the upper income range, which means that they are more likely to have grown up in low crime areas where one could be lax about locking things up and the like and get away with it. In other words, these students often make easy victims for criminals because they leave their doors and windows unlocked, their valuables unattended, etc… They may also be naive about how to avoid violent crimes. As discussed in other threads, they may also be naive about alcohol and rape.

I wasnt speaking of the colleges themselves, but the neighborhoods.
But I agree that students who grew up in more protected areas, are not often very street savvy.
