I am transferring to Alabama for the fall of 2013 and I was wondering where the best off campus housing is located? I am looking for a place that is close to campus and where I will be able to meet a lot of people.

East Edge and Crimson Sterling are two places.

For student housing complexes that are full of students, but a bit further away from campus: The Retreat at Lake Tamaha, and the brand-new Lofts.

My DD chose Crimson Student Living. About 6 blocks behind Bryant Denny Stadium. Very similiar accomodations as her honors dorms last year and she was able to secure an early move-in date. They will help place you if you do not have roommates pre-selected.

Most of the newer complexes are already filled for this fall. If East Edge has any remaining rooms there are VERY few.

My son will be at the Woodlands next year and I believe they have do have some space left, the Retreat may also have space since it’s a bit farther away. If you don’t have a car, some of the complexes do have shuttles, but if you don’t want to rely on those then you may want to be a little closer.

Try using this website, [University of Alabama | Off Campus Housing Search](http://offcampushousing.ua.edu/) to find something.
