Where do upper classman typically live off campus? Is there an apartment complex that is mostly LMU students or is there an area where a lot of students rent houses?
Also, when do most people move off campus/ do a lot of people move off campus?
I’d say it will tend to vary. LMU might have a dedicated facebook page, like most universities, towards finding roommates who are fellow students. If you are fine with finding roommates on craigslist, I would suggest to start there if LMU doesn’t have a dedicated facebook page. I have noticed, regardless of county, you will typically see subletting posts first, then you will see a steady flow of people trying to find someone to take over their spot in a apartment contract two weeks before/after the semester ends.
I can not answer the second portion of your question, but I am sure you’ll be able to find the answer out if you do get a chance to talk with currently enrolled students.

This online app uses Facebook to connect you with other students looking for roommates off campus.”
As a sophomore who lives off campus, I would say that it’s about 50/50 for my grade. Next year, many more will move off campus because housing is only guaranteed freshman and sophomore year. Many kids live in the Playa Del Oro apartments not far from campus, but most I know rent houses with their friends primarily their junior year.

Such a cool apartment, you must take a look. It is so close to LMU, Ralphs, AMC theatre, Nails and several reastaurant. You won’t be regret it! Also it has student-friendly leasing personals.
