(Off Campus) Interview

Hey. Recently received notification that a Reed representative will be in my area in the near future. Reed is, by far, my favorite college I have come across. Just everything about it seems to be perfect for me. As such, I want to do everything I can to increase my chances of getting in - thus, the interview. Some questions though, for those who have done interviews in general and more specifically for Reed-

What type of clothes should you wear?
Any specific areas you should make sure you have something to talk about in advance?
Should you make sure you have your application sent in before the interview, or does it really matter?
Any other advice/info/etc I should be aware of?

As I said, Reed is pretty much my dream college. Would hate to screw this up in any way. Thanks for any responses in advance.

You can increase your interview skills and performance by interviewing at a few other colleges first. The practice really seems to help, mainly to relax you and let you be yourself.

I have an interview with Paul Marther next month, here in Philly. Oddly, it's at UPenn's bookstore. Ouch. Ironically, UPenn USED to be my top choice, until I found Reed. Is this mere coincidence or fate?

Anyway, remember to be relaxed. Reed prefers odd people, from what I understand. I'm the oddest person I know, and I know some really odd people. Just be yourself.

Also, I hear that Reed really isn't all THAT focused on numbers (despite the average 3.9 GPA) and is pretty open to taking bets on long shots. I'm a long shot (3.1 GPA, I HATE Secondary Education SO much...Long story), but I think my essays and the interview can pull me out of the ditch.

I'm going with a pretty casual look (Slacks, shoes, and a button-up). No need to put on a tux or gown.

Heh, only on the east coast is "slacks, shoes, and a button-up" a pretty casual look. That would qualify as semi-dressy for a Reed interview. My son interviewed in jeans and a t-shirt.
