Off Campus Meal Plan

So SU just mailed me a mock newspaper thing (SUPreview) and in it was a flyer for the Off Campus Meal Plan (ocmp.com)

I was wondering if any SU students could shed some light on this for me? Is it worth it to get the meal plan or what? Thank you =D

OCMP isn’t a campus meal plan, so if you’re a freshman you still need to get one (unless you’re commuting). It allows you to prepay for meals at local restaurants…I don’t know specifically what you get because I’ve never had it, but I’ve heard good things about the lower ones from friends. However, they like it more for the convenience (not carrying cash and that their parents pay for it) rather than the deals. The higher plans definitely won’t be worth it as a freshman who’s required to get a campus meal plan, so go low or skip it. But if you’re thinking about it for the future, it’s something to look into–the restaurants that participate are pretty much all great ones…the Mission downtown, and a lot of the places on Marshall St/South Crouse.

Thanks, my parents and I were talking about it and wondering if we should get it in addition to the required plan. I hadn’t actually heard of it before from my friends who went to SU last year so I was really curious.

It seems relatively affordable for the lower plans so but it’s still a bit of a toss up =/

Thanks again for your input =)
