Not really sure what to do here. Some advice would help
Q#1: I received a rejection letter from a school, can I email them and ask why I was rejected?
Q#2: I got accepted early into a safety school, I will still apply and wait for RD results. Do I email them back? What should I say: “Hi Thank you so much. I really appreciate the acceptance but I will continue the application season?” …Sounds weird.
On #2, as long as it was not binding, nothing to do. Just review the dates carefully to make sure you DO provide your final response, yes or no, by the date required.
Q#1: You can, but it’s very unlikely that they would tell you anything other than what was already in the rejection letter (i.e. nothing). Most people aren’t rejected for a specific reason.
Q#2: If you need to do anything, it should be stated in the acceptance letter. Other than that, you can just wait until you’re ready to decline or accept the offer.
Agree.
A college won’t tell you why you were rejected so don’t bother.
If you have been accepted there is no need to reply until the time a deposit is due.
I can tell you. "Thank you for applying to xxxxx. The admission process was very competitive this year. While we would like to extend offers to all applicants, we have a limited number of spaces each year. Unfortunately we are not able to extend an offer to you at this time. For a list of our admission criteria, see the admissions section of our common data set. "
Colleges are not going to explain to students or their parents. Your only chance of finding out more is if your GC is willing to call and ask. Some colleges have informal relationships with some HS counselors, although this is less common at most large public HS.
