Offered an interview? What?

Hey guys,

I applied to Cornell's School of Arts and Sciences and apparently "interviews are not offered" (<a href="http://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/default/files/FreshmanRequirementsChart.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/default/files/FreshmanRequirementsChart.pdf</a>). However, I just got a call today from an alumni, who wanted to set up a phone interview date. She said that the deadline for interviews is Feb. 15 so time is of the essence. I looked at my Cornell Application Status Web Page and it says that I'm applying to the School of Arts and Sciences. It's also the only school within Cornell that I applied to. So, when they say "interviews are not offered" do they mean it's not required?

Thanks

I think the site is referring to official interviews, given by members of the office of admissions to evaluate you.

Alumni interviews are different because they are almost negligible in admissions and are given purely so you may learn more about the college you are applying to.
