Oh, and I forgot...all of you had a 1/18 postmark, right?

Certificate received: 1/21 (postmark 1/18)
New York

Bump..keep this on the first page :)

Just make a subscription to it so you'll get an e-mail when the thread is updated :p

This is a spectacularly dumb theory. It is contrary to the scientific method in every way. You all deserve to lose.

It's a good way to kill time until tuesday.

Actually, detritus, without proof to the contrary, to arbitrarily call this theory dumb and to immediately write it off (unlikely is a much better word) is what is really contrary to the scientific method and had you been in the places of Newton, Einstein, Feynman, etc., that attitude would have precluded you from making some of the great discoveries that they did.

Um, I guess I got a certificate. Like many days ago. Umm, Upstate NY?

2 more days! No news is bad news!

Haha, why is USPS so inconsistent?? People in NY have recieved their certificates over a period of many days, apparently...

Certificate received: 1/19 (postmark 1/13)
State: New York

oh oops wrong postmark...it was the 18th

Did anyone else find it a bit weird we were being recruited for New College or whatever it's called in Florida? I mean, is it just some random school that paid Intel to advertise them? And did anyone actually apply because of it? :p

haha, yeah, that college probably payed a hefty fee to have intel send us that. no, didn't apply.

You bet, GuitarMan. Harvard may have its old prestige, but such entrenched status is nothing next to the vigor shown by the New College of Florida, through its advertisement in the Intel packet, which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt its superior status among America's elite colleges. I just hope my measly accomplishments are enough to land me a position in this fine institution's freshman class the year following.

hey, what is this theory yo guys are talking about?

Listen, duality, it's only not considered elite yet because it's new. Hence the name "New College". They need fine young'uns like us to make it good when it becomes middle-aged!

Southside, the theory is that if they don't send you a certificate for being a semi-finalist, it means you're a finalist. No one knows if it's true yet :p Do you go to South Side H.S. in Rockville Center?

Wait a second, can't we just ask last year's finalists whether they received a semifinalist packet prior to the announcement of finalists?

yea...someone want to do that?

good idea duality but i dont personally know any finalists. I wish Amber put it on her blog whether she received a certificate or not.

besides, that'd be too easy. it'd take all the fun out of it ;)
