I got an 8000 dollar deans which i wasn't expecting, but Rochester is still so expensive anyway even with that. It's nice of them though.

I was expecting a bit more, but judging by some of the reports, it seems I turned out fairly well.

Rochester National Grant $23,600.00
Federal Work Study $2,500.00
Federal Direct Sub. Loan $2,625.00
Federal Perkins Loan $3,000.00
TOTAL FINANCIAL AID $31,725.00

Total estimated cost $45,770.00

Douglass-Anthony Scholarship - 7500
Rochester Nat'l Grant - 18600
Federal Work Study - 2500
Federal Direct Sub. Loan - 2625
Federal Perkins Loan - 2300

Total - 33525

did everyone send theirs in earrly or somethign??

I'm also curious about when people sent their apps in. I'm worried because I sent mine in around the deadline rather than by December.

I sent mine in a few weeks before the deadline, and did my financial aid documents at about the same time.

Cody

I sent in mine a few days before the January deadline.

$7500 bauch and lomb scholarship
$2600 loan

well, looks like no UR for me since I've been offered 22k at rpi and 28k at Case Western.

There's always the chance that you could tell them about your better offers at other schools, and see if they can do any better for you.

Just a thought, althought if you don't care it may not be worth it.

UR's money seems to be heavily distributed to people of GREAT financial need,
The Rochester $20,000 National Grant being the biggest single grant they offer to people who's families have low income- and plus if you're in New York State since the state gives benefits to residents who stay in NYS.

So if you're not poor and/or you're not in NYS I guess you cant expect much else than the $6k-10k scholarships they give out + some workstudy/loans.

agreed. but then again, most other places don't give out much either. besides bigger merit stuff sometimes

i think rochester should get rid of the one scholarship per person rule. that would help them keep more of their accepted students.

How much time after the admissions letter did you guys recieve Financial aid info (the package)? I got my admissions offer friday last week but still no Financial aid...

SebmaFSX : my financial aid info came roughly two weeks after my admissions offer.

That included both merit and need based aid?

I received my acceptance letter around March 3 but I still don't have my financial aid yet... T.T although, granted, living overseas may have something to do with it...

yes SebmaFSX, that included both merit and need based aid.
Diamond: =/ sorry to hear that - did you try calling them to find out if they received all the necessary documnents for financial aid? and yah it probably is cuz ur overseas...but hey congrats on being accepted to UofR! Cool that foreign students have alot of interest in UR too =)

I'm not an international student. I'm from California XP However, going along that line, I do have two friends who are internationals that applied and were also accepted. :) There was also one other girl i know who applied but I don't know if she got in...

i've decided to wait a little longer, until April 1st. If I don't get anything by then, I'll call. The waiting, however, has made me a tad mailbox obsessive T_T;;;

I sent my application on the 15th of January. When I should expect to receive my admission decision? Thank you!

very soon

i got a 6000 deans scholarship and ditn apply for it... who is awarded these scholarships? becuse i know im not top 10% of accepted students at u of r

I got the 6000 deans scholarship, but didn't apply for it nor am I a top student (my stats are much worse than yours!)

Anyone knows what are the qualifications for this scholarship?
