Official 2008 Questbridge National College Match Discussion and Help

Just explain it in the additional info. section. That's what I did. They say it's ok; they'll still accept them.

http://www.questbridge.org/students/process.html#Regular

Finalists who are NOT matched or who decided to opt out of the College Match are eligible to apply to additional colleges through the Regular Decision process. Last year, over 700 QuestBridge applicants were admitted by our partner colleges through the Regular Decision process and received financial aid packages worth a total of over $50 million. The Regular Decision process works as follows:

Students decide which QuestBridge partner colleges they would like to apply to for the Regular Decision cycle.

Students go to their 'My Locker' page and select the colleges that they want their applications forwarded to.

Students must re-confirm the request to have applications forwarded between December 1 (when students are notified of their match status) and December 15. Requests for application forwarding must be submitted through the 'My Locker' page by December 15 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

Students review the Regular Decision Table and submit any additional materials that are required.

It is important to note that students will still need to review the respective colleges' admissions processes and requirements and adhere to their deadlines and policies.

Colleges contact students directly to inform them of their admission and financial aid decisions.

is it possible to edit your essays even after you submit so for instance at 6 i submit it can i edit it at 11?

Twk47, apparently yes.

Anyone feeling nervous, haha? Last year 3715 kids applied for Questbridge - Only 207 were matched and 1794 were finalists T_T
Hence my reason behind not matching any colleges if the rate of actually being matched is so low.

k thank you zester because I dont want to not make the deadline so I would rather submit now and edit it later because I have to go out of the house

haha is it fine if the first paragraph isnt indented on the essays ... its not letting me haha

QUICK QUESTION:

My friend has his whole application done but he didnt fax in his transcript and test scores cause he didnt think they were due yet.

Are the transcript/test scores due tonight too?

^
Yes. (10char)

uh is additional information necessary? and yes to ramin haha

is anyone having a lot of trouble signing back on to the website?
server too busy?

if i hadn't just submitted my application five minutes ago, I'd be freaking out

P.S.
Does anyone know for sure that if you become a finalist, you can opt out of the match right then and there before it gets forwarded on to colleges?

I am having a very hard time logging on...i'm trying to stay calm, but i'm not sure how much longer i can...

i havent submitted my last essay or the short answers!!!!

Me too! It's going really slowly. I'm trying to submit my application, but it keeps saying that I can't submit my app without completing the "school section." I've already completed it!

is it true that notre dame is not binding, which means i can rank it and still not attend if i decide not to?
by the way, rankings are due 5th right?

if anyone is applying to the non-binding schools, do you know if you have to do both common app AND supplement for each?
cuz that would be redic

yep, notre dame is non-binding. i used to think that if i put a non-binding school as my first choice, and picked binding schools for my other choices, i would be able to somehow choose between my non-binding and binding choices if i got accepted to more than one. apparently, questbridge only notifies you of admission to your highest ranked college, whether its binding or not.

and i'm starting to get nervous about this slow server thing...

does anyone who finished this app last year know if they did anything to make up for the lost time at the final hours of before deadline? I know that it's entirely our faults but it just will not let me on!

what does it mean essays have to be completed to submit???

i already filled everything out do we have to save drafts or somethin?

we do have until midnight. that's two hours away. they can't possibly be held up for the next two hours...
