since the sat scores will be out oct 23, how will we be able to fax it to QB before the deadline, Oct 24?

cc3c, we are notified if we are matched with the schools on december 1st. also, i believe the october SAT scores are only for the ranked schools to see.

to tsprite:

i think we can either send them now or send them when we are notified. they will create a file for us, if we send it earlier and assume that we are applying.

for schools like Wellesley, Amherst, and Williams, it doesn't say anything about them requiring common app or extra supps. so does this mean they only look at the QB application?

Actually you do stasis for Williams, but you can use QB app for Amherst and Wellesley. Check out the following link:

QuestBridge National College Match - Regular Decision Table

Quicksandslowly, isn't that for Regular Admissions?

confusing. Oh I have a question- when they say 3rd Nov to our ranked colleges, do they mean postmarked 3rd Nov, or reach the college by 3rd Nov? Because I'm from overseas, and it'll take time for the mail to reach the college. This QB thing is creating so many possible outcomes and I'm going mad trying to prepare for each. Like oh what if I get in; should I still try for Yale and Princeton-- they are super hard to get in and I'm only inclined towards Yale-- or should I just use it for the RD round? My school only allows us to apply to 8 US colleges of which maximum 3 are Ivies so it's really limited and I gotta consider carefully which ones to apply for.

@minxy - Your school policy is really annoying! The deadline is the postmark date and besides, they are receiving so many applications, your mail will probably come in and they still would not have finished processing all of the other packages

Haha alright then, thanks!

@stasis, if you look at the two categories, one says "if you become finalist," which is for the NCM status.

EDIT: Hmm, now I'm not sure anymore lol. Maybe you should email them? Sorry I couldn't help.

Quicksandslowly, i still think that is only for regular admissions process. for the initial college match process, the requirements are:

College Match Program: Requirements

it says "if you become finalist" on the link you sent me, because you can still do regular admissions after being a finalist and not being matched through the college match process. there is a big discrepancy between the requirements shown on the link above and the one you sent.

Haha, sorry about that. I guess I misinterpreted the information. Maybe you should email QB to make sure. Sorry about the mix up!

Results from the October 4 SAT will not be available until October 23, and therefore QuestBridge cannot consider those scores when selecting College Match Finalists. However, the colleges will be able to consider those results when selecting students for College Match Scholarships, if the scores are submitted promptly. If you are planning to take the October 4 SAT, please indicate this in the "Testing Information" section of your QuestBridge application by reporting an SAT result on test date "October, 2008" and leaving the score boxes blank. As soon as your score results are available on October 23, submit them to QuestBridge using the web form on your ''My Locker'' page.

thats weird. i emailed QB and the staff said to fax the score to QB as soon as I received them...

What I posted was from the QuestBridge website. This is all sooooo confusing!!!!!

For example: On the Common Ap you can list the schools you want to have information submitted to, however, it seems teachers recommendations need to be sent to Common Ap AND each school which seems redundant.

We are all hoping to be named a finalist and if so we have just 10 days to get all the information to our listed match schools. However, trying to figure out who gets what and when seems to be the true test to college admissions! LOL

Here is the link to the QuestBridge page where I got that info on testing and scores:

QuestBridge College Match Program - Required Standardized Tests

Questbridge is incredibly confusing. they should really consider clarifying the requirements further haha.

lol yeah, thats y i was confused. Tspirite i read that page thats why i was confused and emailed them. the staff told me that i should fax the score to them.. but recently i just realized that scores came out ONE DAY before tey declare finalists...

If i apply early response to u of mich ann arb, is that against QB contract?
early resp is not ea or ed.. just early response to rd...

cc3c, early response is like early evaluation?
