week and a halfff. does anyone know when they email you?

does anyone know if UChicago requires ONLY teacher recommendations during the college match process (not regular)? or the counselor recommendations too?

Thanks.
A WEEK AND A HALF!!?!?

I cant wait.. um 8 pm on oct 24?

can anyone answer my questions please? lol

Non-binding rolling admissions is kosher. SCEA & ED are traife.

Hey does anyone know if we can get an interview with the ranked partner colleges? I personally ranked Yale and Princeton as my top choices but I don't see how I will be able to get an interview from them seeing I don't live in the nearby area?

Also, do you think that schools like yale and princeton are expecting to receive our first quarter grades? Because at my school, they come out like in mid november and I'm not sure if they will get them on time before the final decision...

us too.. i hope so

stasis: I'm pretty sure you also need the school report, since they don't seem to look at that from the QB app. You could always email QB or someone from Chicago's admissions office.

^^Unefille, once your first quarter grades are released, mail your report card ASAP...perhaps two-three day shipping or overnight it. I called Yale back in June and the admissions officer said that first marking period grades (if sent by mid-November) can actually help applicants if they show a high level of achievement (my guess, all "A's"...or an upward trend from juinor year). So, try your best to rush that report card as soon as you get it!

Re Interviews:

PRINCETON: College Match Program: Princeton College Match FAQ

Interviews at Princeton are recommended but not required and are conducted by alumni volunteers. It is unlikely that College Match applicants will be interviewed in November. If you are not matched, and if there are enough volunteers in your area, you will be contacted for an interview in the Regular Decision process.

YALE: College Match Program: Yale FAQ

As soon as you submit your completed application, we will try to find an alumnus in your area to interview you. You do not need to contact us to set up an alumni interview. Because we are not always able to find interviewers, you will not be faulted in the application process if we are unable to provide you with an interview. Interviews are recommended but not required.

Re: October SAT test scores

I recieved this from QuestBridge today and thought I'd share it with you all:

"Regarding submitting your SAT test scores from October to QuestBridge, we will be sending out an email later this week with instructions on how to do so. Please keep an eye out for that email.

As for sending your subject test scores to the colleges, you should request that the College Board send those scores directly to the schools. They will receive them in time to review the scores."

Yikes! I RECEIVED -- need a break now!! ;)

y dint i get that email??

when they say 3rd Nov do they mean postmark or what?

minxy, postmark yes

hey guys
this is somewhat irrelevant but what do the colleges mean by the Nov. 3rd deadline? Does
that mean that as long as I send in my common application(which is done online) by 11:59 PM EST or something, I'm all set? I don't see how this is verified...

Also, if you're chosen as a QB finalist, will the colleges of your choosing receive all that was in the QB application, such as the three essays including the personal one as well?? Do colleges recommend re-submitting the same essays for the common apps by copying and pasting or is it better to write more???

Thanks!!!!

Random discussion question:

Given the recent financial crisis, do any of you think that the Questbridge schools may hand out less Match scholarships this year?

I'm this is rediculous, they could have told us at the original deadline or before they were expecting the rest of the material by Nov. 3 the colleges. I'm just imagining going to my teachers with another recomendation ugh.

If we aren't named finalist we don't have to do it right.

pgtori, if you're not a finalist, you don't HAVE to do it. but you can choose to go on with the regular admission process i believe.
