Do non-finalists get emailed at all?

apparently if you make finalist it shows up on My Locker??

Does anybody know when approximately do they come out?? at midnight??

from the QB homepage:

"Finalists will be notified on October 24, 2008 by 5:00pm PT via email."

hey im about to graduate from high school and in the process of applying to colleges if anyone got accepted to The Sophie Davis Program pleaselet me know because i really want to get into this program andi need inside tips desperately! and quick too!......thnx

I only posted earlier in this thread re finalist status appearing on "my locker" because that was D experience from last year. We also did get an e mail, but I can't recall in which order we got the notification.

Good luck all, I know the anxiety!

Honestly I just want to fall asleep and wake up at 5PM tomorrow. I don't want to go to school, I just want to find out if I get chosen. Haha, not like that will make even the smallest iota of difference. Good luck everyone!

My gosh, less than 22 hours away.

From the QuestBridge website (I posted this once before):

Results from the October 4 SAT will not be available until October 23, and therefore QuestBridge cannot consider those scores when selecting College Match Finalists.

However, the colleges will be able to consider those results when selecting students for College Match Scholarships, if the scores are submitted promptly. If you are planning to take the October 4 SAT, please indicate this in the "Testing Information" section of your QuestBridge application by reporting an SAT result on test date "October, 2008" and leaving the score boxes blank. As soon as your score results are available on October 23, submit them to QuestBridge using the web form on your ''My Locker'' page.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! :)

Good luck all!

So does that mean 8pm central time? Oh man! That's a long wait! Haha, yeah Good Luck Everyone! :)

5PM PST is 8PM EST... :(

good look people.

good nite

I am confused what happens if not selected as a finalist. Do we just forward the information to the colleges on our list and it becomes regular admission? If we forward to the colleges on the list, are they still considered early action or decision? What happens to those colleges that are not on the list? Can we forward the same information to them or we have to use common application to all the colleges we want to apply? Sorry to ask so many question. I am a confused dad.

^ there's a page dealing with this on the website. It's under the Match/ Regular Decision lists I think.

Basically you are ousted from the College MATCH process but are still eligible for the regular decision process. The difference being that for most colleges you'll have to pay the application fee (which is nominal compared to what you might save) and QB won't forward the application, or it might be slower.

I'd recommend still applying via QB since you've worked hard and done the entire app. There are still many advantages.

Hi Confused dad! ;)

If not selected as a finalist, you can request Questbridge forward apps to the schools you selected (MyLocker due December 15th). Not only can you request the schools you listed for match, but also add other schools from the 26 partner schools.

I am not for sure on this but I believe RD will mean you will not receive an answer until April. However, more QuestBridge applicants are accepted through RD than match.

Also, the good thing about the Common App is so many schools accept it. Saves time having to fill out application after application. Of course you must check to make sure the school does not require a supplemental application (i.e., Princeton, Yale).

This is very confusing but well worth the sorting through and work.

"The QuestBridge Regular Decision process enables qualified students to apply to our partner colleges for free via the regular admissions process using their QuestBridge application.

Most of our partner colleges accept the QuestBridge application in lieu of their own application for Regular Decision admission. Those that do not will use the QuestBridge application as a supplement. Please see the Regular Admissions Process page for details."

where will u guys be applying early if u dont get in by Questbridge?

Yale. No contest. I really hope I make finalist though :/

if i can't make finalist, i prob won't make EA either though!

I think I'll hold out for regular decision through QuestBridge if not matched. I keep getting mail from UofMiami, Fordham University, Hofstra Honors College, Univ of Colorado, and today got something from Emory but hoping (as we all are) to get matched to my dream school.

I guess I'm not the only one who can't sleep tonight! :)

When do we find out our decisions?
