Official 2008 Questbridge National College Match Discussion and Help

Can someone confirm the information that we can change our rankings if we're finalists? For instance, copy and paste the email from QuestBridge or find it on the website? I would be interested to know if that's true.

if i w/draw my app and apply EA to a partner school but get rejected, can i forward my app to the same school regular decision? Please, need quick response!

@ cc3c: Yes, definitely. If you withdraw from the QB National College Match, and get rejected in the EA/ED round, you can still forward the same app RD, as long as you indicate in the QB app forwarding in your "My Locker" before the deadline of Dec. 15

@ AmbitiousMind07:
The updated scores will be sent to QB but won't be immediately be shown on your submitted app.

If I become a finalist and send the Yale app (which counts as RD), do I have to withdraw my other EA application which isn't going through questbridge? if someone please help asap..

^Yes, you must withdraw your EA app even if it isn't through QB.

If I apply to the partner schools that requires SAT II's, but I will be taking it on Nov. 1, am I still eligible for their admission decisions if I become QB finalist? Will the scores be considered if I send it to the colleges for Nov. SAT IIs?

"^Yes, you must withdraw your EA app even if it isn't through QB."

gahhh...anyone confirm this?

cutie:

depends on the partner school

sweet:

hes right, u cant ea and match

For brittany2009:

If you are selected as a finalist on October 24 and need to make a change to your College Rankings, you will have an opportunity to request a change at that time. Please email us at questions@questbridge.org once you have been notified of your finalist status, and we will inform you of how to request a change.

Kind regards,
The QuestBridge Team

I read that many of the colleges don't even read our QB essays..
(please correct me if i'm wrong)

If I want them to recognize my financial situations, should I reuse my QB essay as the main essay for common app?

^Absolutely. Use them for the supplements too if they fit.

^Thanks for ur response!
So,,, the colleges only consider our "finalist status" but NOT the QB applications?

^ Most yes, but not all. Please guys take the time to peruse the website (this particular question could have been answered by looking at the requirements for the Match program & noting some require their own applications which would indicate they don't look at the Questbridge app)

1 DAY! oa;weifha;odifhad;ofihadfoahi
so excited.

does anyone know or think that the new sat scores posted today can actually make a difference in the finalist decision? I went up significantly and I would hope that it does...

It would be great if someone knows this--my d's went up significantly also and we updated this morning. Of course, the results come out tomorrow!

from what i've heard, the updated SAT scores are only for the colleges to see. decisions have already been made for finalists.

Does anyone here know when to expect the email? Do finalists get emailed first and then the "no's"?
This is totally nerve-wracking, and I'm only the mom!
