Official 2011 AP US Government Thread

One or two of the MC questions were a bit vague… other than that they weren’t that challenging at all, really. The FRQ was fine, but I know I had to bs one or two bullet points.

MC:
About a 55

FRQ:
1 - Easy
2 - Didn’t know much about it but I feel my bs was reasonable
3 - One bullet point I had to bs
4 - Easy

Hopefully the curve isn’t too tough, though.

Overall, this was probably my easiest AP exam this year. And my last one. Feels great to be done with high school!

MC was almost too easy, I was surprised at some of the topics they overtly omitted…as for the FRQs:

1–Easy, but I wish I had taken Latin…

2–Anyone who has taken AP Stats and has some common sense could have gotten this right…

3–Probably the most specific questions but still not hard if you were familiar with this topic.

4–A classic AP Gov FRQ, but I felt as if the answer to each one was essentially the same. Worded somewhat vaguely.

It was on the verge of easy. I’ll be happy to get a 3 or 4 seeing as my teacher has a 35% pass rate and we haven’t done much all year. As someone else noted above, i’m really surprised how little they put on court cases this year, im dissappointed because those are usually free pts.

MC: Fairly easy, although some topics were a bit unexpected and other questions gave me problems because I didn’t go over those topics very well. Hoping for 50+ but probably got 45/46+.

FRQ 1: Easy. Had no trouble explaining any of the parts, and I’m glad I knew the LATIN!
FRQ 2: Mostly easy, but didn’t know how to explain one part.
FRQ 3: Moderately hard because I didn’t review these topics in depth, but I had at least a general idea of each part, which was good.
FRQ 4: Easy. Nothing hard about this question; abundant examples to support each sub-topic.

FRQ’s 1 and 4 were the easiest for me. Hopefully I wrote enough for the other two questions to get most credit. I’m THINKING I got a 5, but never want to be too sure.

I’m thinking between 50 and 55 on the MC.

3 was the only question I struggled with in the FRQ.

Can anyone confirm answers to the Voting rights act question, the question about which court had the most cases, and the question about things that hurt political partys?

(Not sure if I was allowed to say that)

Really easy. At least 45 MC, and free response was really basic and general. I may have messed a few things up here and there, but I still say an easy 5.

However, I expect this test to have an unforgiving curve. Everyone is saying it was extremely easy.

definitely 55+ MC. i was surprised.
Q1 was easy except for one little part that i blanked on. can’t even remember 2 & 3 so i’m guessing that they were easy. i think i screwed up the last one…just kept repeating myself.

probably (hopefully!) got a low 5

I knew almost all of the FRQ material, but I am afraid I did not phrase it well enough to gain credit. I hope the readers are nice!

What would be the answer to this question? It is a graph with the ADA score of democrats and republicans-higher score= more left. Does the data indicate that there is an ideological distinction or that democrats are more uniform in voting?

I second caveat’s question.

I think I put there is an ideological distinction, but it was between those two.

distinction would definitely be the clear-cut answer.

MC - Thought it was very tricky. Fewer graph problems than I expected. Missed some really stupid ones after checking. Hoping for a 45 at lowest and most likely a 53 at highest.

FRQ
1 - Think I got all of it except the WoC, which I think I got part right…
2 - Most likely got all of it
3 - All of it except the SD part which I BSed and later checked and it seemed like I got it right.(you guys can decipher what SD means haha).
4 - Got it all except one on part A.

Also, my teacher has a 100% pass rate of 3+, even to the students who have Cs, Ds and Es in there. Hope I’m not the one that somehow gets a 2…

@Kellian

I put that the parties are distinct ideologically, something like that.

I said the ideological distinction. This was a tough one.

Repubs were spread out, but they had a large portion on the way left. So I figured to disprove it I could say they balanced out with the Demos (who were less spread out but with no extremes).

Yea it was distinction. How many do you think I need to get for a 5 on this one? I know for sure I got 50+ MC (definitely did not miss more than 10, if even) but I don’t know if the FRQs are weighted the same was as the 2009 scoring guidelines so I can’t calculate the score, unless someone has come up with the numbers already. The one about political ideologies (I’m not discussing the question, just the topic) threw me off, that and another question were weird. Does anyone vaguely remember that answer?

What would say a 47 on MC and a 51/60 on the frqs get you?

^ High 4/Low 5.

Just use this: <a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

The multiple choice were very easy. Missed probably 2-3. I was confused on three, looked the answers up later, and got them right! I’m assuming that I made 2-3 mistakes, but they were QUITE easy.

FRQs were a breeze. LOVED LOVED LOVED the first one (I love that topic), two was easy, three was easy, four was oddly worded but easy. Felt very well prepared.

Considering I only put 2 hours in, I think I did exceptionally well. I was able to answer like 80% of the MC on my first pass and BS together some swell essays (lol). Though to be fair, I do have a strong background in politics (family). My little brother who’s in middle school could have gotten anywhere between a 3-5 (depends on how he would handle the FRQ though he would kill MC, he’s a speaker not a writer).

i don’t care if it’s “not allowed.” i talk about the mc during the break… can we discuss them please?
