They gave the answer choices in mmHg??? *** lol that is evil

@Sophia7X–I think that the question was phrased “what is the pressure in mmHg of …” I remember thinking to myself about the unit trickiness.

0.178 mmHg was one of the answers… Tricky ACS haha

gah I’m super paranoid what other tricks they hid in that MC… ugh. My score has gone down 1 point a day from 60 since Saturday.

My MC has stayed at a pretty constant 57 but my FR went down from like 85 to 80

NOOOOOOO. I got 1.d.ii wrong because of the aliquot thing…

I got -13C for the ice thing. That was B.

LOL don’t worry I made so many dumb mistakes on the FRQs…
% ethanol wrong
drew cations the wrong way
probably got the Ba(NO3)2 one wrong
may have not indicated clearly enough on potential E diagrams
last reaction wrong
probably that whole last FRQ wrong

the USNCO really outdid themselves this year with their tricks and stuff. Good luck to them to grade/figure out partial credit for all our stupid mistakes.:P

Darn those test making people

The free response complex ion question with Kf when you had to solve moles of NH3 and they gave you grams of solid. What were you supposed to do? Because I just converted grams of solid to moles then converted to Nh3 using basic stoich but I felt like you had to do an ICE table or something but I couldn’t set it up

Yeah pretty much, the FR was pretty ■■■■■, I’m expecting camp for FR to be as low as like 75-85 range at this level

hmm Sophia, you didn’t need ICE. Find the molarities of Cu and OH-, then assume [ammonia] is large, and plug into K equation.

@Sophia, I did some stoich to get concentrations of different species and plugged it all into the combined K expression, which gave me 0.301M NH3 or something like that

at least you guys didn’t switch uni- and bi- for a good several sub sections T_T

don’t worry lenov0, a previous camper seems to have done that as well :P. Now I hope he/she doesn’t see this post… xD

Why can’t May 4th come quicker!!!

chill out… it is approaching… at the rate of 1 second…
per second.

yeah, and our tests are probably not even at their office yet >.<. probably in a truck somewhere in the midwest lol

I know! I don’t like this. ACS is mean. I think Arden P. Zipp was having a bad day.

Yeah ouch, if you mixed those up that would have screwed the entire question 8, which was like 14%…

I was hoping to do really well on the FR and MC to make up for my screwed up lab (did good on lab problem 2 but I wasted too much time because I did two trials instead of making up the results for trial 2 like most people, haha. And I didn’t complete problem 1 because I spent like 20 minutes trying to standardize the stupid NaOH. I’m a horrible titrator XD

Like I’m really hoping to get that call but I don’t know if I will, like I know there’s always the chance and I do have a semi-good MC with alright FR (especially for this year…) and okay lab… ■■■

Oh well, There’s always next year. Unless you’re a senior.
I’m pretty sure all of you here will make at least honors top 150.
