How hard do you think this exam will be if I’m in regular world history, and only starting to self-study like now

I’m also interested in self-studying and am willing to dedicate two hours each day. Is it doable?

2 hours is pretty good. Get good practice books. Maybe a textbook but with lack of time it will be difficult. Maybe ask a teacher for help for material, like assessments. Find DBQS and free responses. a 4 is more than doable. 5 is tough but towards april you must work very hard.

how exactly should i be studying?
I’ve just been using flashcards to memorize all the facts, but I know I need to be able to analyze

Only 74 days until the exam!

for you self-studiers, how are you self-studying?

bump
10char

I am reading through the spodek textbook. Only on chapter 7 I plan to do a lot more studying this week since I have break. I am also reading outlines of other textbooks online, using other teachers’ outlines, watching youtube crash course world history videos, and reading the REA crash course. What are you other self-studiers doing?

Yeah same here, not going anywhere for spring break anyways. I dont think that reading other peoples outlines would help you that much since its not in your own words, only my opinion anyway. But for studying, Im going to be making a timeline of the general things that occurred throughout by regions and comparing it to others so that Ill be well prepped for the CCOT/CC essay topics. Those that have Princeton Review book should know what Im talking about. Then Ill probably read PR and refer to my textbook for the things that I am clueless about.

on spring break crashing this REA all access. for all of you cramsters invest in the REA Crashcourse. Its concise and perfect. The things sold out for APUSH last year by may.

I never knew this combo was so perfect. 3 chapters of all access - mini quiz on their website. Then review with 100 flashcards they give and review with crash course. 6 chapters and Test. Finish and 2 practice exams - one from all access and one from crash course. This is perfect for self studiers

You can still buy this and finish in the 6 weeks we have left.
The crash course is basically all the multiple choice from past exams in bullet form.

Took me a while to find but here ya go

Thanks for the MC links, really appreciate it.
How would you suggest is the best way to prepare for the FRQ’s?

In my opinion the frqs in APWH are pretty hard. I don’t want to bore you describing them. Review books do a good job at that. I particularly like Princeton Review because it is more in depth compared to other books. For the DBQS practice. You don’t have enough time to do 50 essays (unless you’re really bored) but you can definitely write 50 theses. But do write a couple under time and have someone proofread them. For the other two essays, use your review book. You won’t have any documents for this portion of the frqs but no sweat. Theres only two types of questions they can ask, continuity over time of ONE country or empire, and comparison of TWO places in ONE time period. Just take your review book and as you go along write down the changes and continuities over time of caliphs, empires, and nations. Pick important periods and describe the comparisons. For example you can take the industrial revolution and compare the US and Britain. The crash course that i mentioned before dedicates a section of ear chapter to the changes and continuities of each period. Go over past essays and see the topics. Answer them in your head or answer them in bullets on paper.

Here’s an excellent thread about an essay
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/927250-please-grade-my-essay-1-9-ap-world-history-dbq.html

and here’s an essay that supposedly got a 9
[DBQ - Example of a 9](http://teachersites.schoolworld.com/webpages/DCrouse/ap.cfm?subpage=1534536)

Thanks once again for the help!

I am willing to trade resources (for many different AP exams including World History) in exchange for Practice tests for AP WH, APES, AP CS, AP Stats. Preferably official tests but anything will do. Cram kits are also acceptable. Pls message me if you are interested.

What’s your advice if you run into a FRQ that you have no idea how to write about?

I’m taking the exam as well and i’m trying to find a way to get an amazing grade any suggestions? Besides studying

ok squirelly so the frqs are predictable. But if you don’t know anything about it there is still hope. All frq’s come with a date. and these dates have a far more significance than you think. They don’t pick dates that are simple like 600 - 1500. they might say 622-1498. 622 is the first day in Dar-al Islam or the first day in the islamic calender. 1498, think about it. its the year the Vasco Da Gama came to southern asia. With this suppose the question was what where some of the changes in indian ocean trade. With these two dates alone you can get enough information to write an essay. just think it through before writing because having ten minutes to relax at the end isn’t worth getting a 4 on the test.

Okay, so this is the real group ;)

My teacher is a first timer so this is kinda new. I need to really review the chapters as I’ve been slacking off a bit. FRQ wise, I think you need to be mindful of the details but you can also make the time period work for you by being selective of which events you include.

if anybody feels like pming me i can messge them a promo code for getafive.com Its an awesome website with 12 hours of apwh review video, a diagnostic, practice test, and quizes for each video, as well as powerpoints. Package worth 50$ for you free. this thing is saving my life.
