**OFFICIAL 2013 Fall UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread**

Join the UCSB transfer group on Facebook!

Just search for “UCSB Transfer Students (Fall 2013)”

Congrats @acceptmeUC!!

I wonder how many transfer students have been accepted already out of their target of enrolling 1,550 students. Do they just stop reading and automatically deny any other applicants once they have met that mark?

That’s a good question.

Accepted
Economics & Accounting major
3.8 GPA

I got my decision around 5pm on 03/28/13

@shmohawk

That’s not how admissions work. They will admit as many qualified transfer students as possible with the expectation that not all will enroll. For example, they may admit 3,000 students expectingn 1,550 to actually enroll. Why? Becuase the other 1,450 may have been admitted to CSULB, UCLA, UCSD, etc and have chose to enroll there.

If all the admitted students (all 3,000) decide to enroll, the school will have to accept every one even though they only expected 1,500.

In addition, they don’t stop reviewing the applicats as soon as they reach 3,000 qualified applicants. They read every application and then choose the top 3,000. There are some exceptions, but this is how admissions generally work.

Is there anyway to find out why you got declined?
I applied with a 3.25 GPA and was denied first day of admissions release. Thing is though i had previously TAG’d to UCSC and was denied for not have a 3.0 due to what i’m assuming was a miscalculation on their end and a extremely confusing transcripts due to flunking out my first two semesters and playing catch up . After my couselor contacted them they confirmed they made a mistake in rejecting me. Just want to make sure UCSB didn’t make the same mistake.

Accepted

GPA: 3.36
Intended Major: Pre-Biology

I currently attend Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, I’m in the six year PharmD major program, so I really didn’t do any extracurricular or volunteer work during my time in college since my track was an automatic track to becoming a pharmacist, I did do a good amount of that stuff though in high school. So far, I have gotten into UCSB and University of Miami, hoping I get into UC Berkeley, but I have my doubts.

I got my unofficial financial aid package. :)

I am still waiting for my results :(

@hazgirl411 thanks (:

Finally, a gen bio major gets a decision

Do International transfer students get their decisions last or it’s just a matter of luck?

@novalord2 I actually got my acceptance letter about a week ago, I just decided to come on here and see what everyone has to say haha.

When people got accepted on this forum, did they receive an email stating that they were accepted? or an email that said to check their portal?

@Reedy916 Nope, no email.

Thanks Peddler, Also, did anyone get accepted by using a score of a 3 on the AP lit Exam to satisfy their first writing requirement?

@reedy I got accepted the first day the results came out and I got an email the next day saying my admit status was ready in the portal.

I haven’t heard anything at all from UCSB!!! I’m really anxious to know already especially since I had already been accepted last year, but ended up not going anywhere! I really hope I could get in this year because it is my top first choice! Anyone accepted today???

I did a TAG, 3.2 GPA exactly, 4.0 major GPA

Accepted in the first round.
