@rupnok: That was very generous of you to post 2010 exam. Since most semis are floating around it would make a lot of sense to simply release all exams with ans. keys as CEE did for the opens.

I just linked to the 2010 semis. It has been on that website for quite some time now. I did not up load it. Good luck trying to find answer keys. I think CEE may reuse some semi questions that is probably why they are not released.

Thanks, rupnok, for all your help. I have a quick question: do you know how many people got a 37 (or similar number) and over? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I do not have any more information than what is on the histogram. Let me reiterate, I am not a teacher nor am I an USABO insider.

If anybody needs the answer key for the 2010 semifinal exam, PM me.

Have other sites also not received the semi-final exams and scan-tron forms yet?

If your site received everything necessary to administer the exam, can you tell us when?

All teachers have received their passwords. The encrypted semifinal test has been available in the TRC since before the 13th of this month. Schools have from the 13th through the 23rd to administer the test. When your school administers the exam is up to your teacher. Knowing when other schools take the exam is irrelevant.

Does anyone know how they score Part C in the semifinal exams?

I think partial credit is given for the FRQs.

Thanks, but do you know how much the entire section is worth and how points are divided between questions?

I think that section C is variable from the semis that I have seen. The questions aren’t doubled like section B.

Our site has not received the package containing the scantron forms. When did others receive their scantron answer forms for the semi-final?

My teacher got ours a few days after Semifinalists were announced.

Looks like CEE has revised the 2013 Open histogram:

2013-oe-histogramrevised.pdf

Well the distribution looks right now but the the horizontal axis not properly aligned since the average was about 17 I believe. I think that the histogram should be shifted about 10 points to the right. Also for those complaining about lower scores than they expected, the scores were out of 47 not out of 50, according to the information that Rupnok gave, so it is entirely possible that your score could have been shifted three down from what you thought it would be.

How many semifinal questions are repeats? Would I be at a disadvantage if I’m taking semis for the first time?

Semifinal tests and keys from 2003-2012 are available on the TRC now.

@ramboacid Since the Semis are now released, it is a safe bet that there will no repeat questions.

Since the semis are available to everyone now, could someone post some on here or PM me some?

This is what is says on the certification form.

Part C: Short answer questions. Write your answers in the space, blank, or box provided on the exam. Only answers located in the allotted space, blank, or box will be graded. Listed beside each question is the point value for that question. Partial credit is given for each section. Right-wrong grading may be used in this section.
