It's summer, and I'm attempting to take advantage of this sophomore summer by prepping for the USA Biology Olympiad.

I was curious as to whether or not there was a astronomical difference between Campbell Reece's Biology 8th edition, as opposed to Campbell Reece's Biology The AP Edition. Because this year, I read the 7th AP edition of Campbell's Biology, and I was wondering if it was necessary for me to buy the 8th edition and study from it again.

Cool I’m glad there’s a thread for this!! Do you know when we have to register for the test by? (Sorry if that’s a stupid question no one at my school has ever done it before)

Jerry, I’m talking about the AP edition as opposed to the normal biology book used in universities, not high school. Or are they the same as well?

There is no difference in the content for the Campbell sold to college students and the AP version for high schools. The difference is in how it is bound. College students buy books & use them for a semester. High schools adopt book and have to use them 5-6 years, meaning they go through a lot of wear and tear, so the high school version is bound to hold up longer. I am a high school AP & IB Biology teacher, and I got this information from the textbook sales rep.
