"Official" 2014 USABO thread

Could someone explain why the answer is E to #2 on semis 2011?

are we allowed to discuss questions/guess cutoffs for the 2014 Open yet?

We’ll know the cutoff in three days anyways :P

@ChessNBio Chart 1 is definitely mitosis (DNA replicated once, segregated once), and the only choice that has 1 as mitosis is E, which is the answer. That being said, I have absolutely no clue what the half-drops in Charts 2 and 4 are supposed to represent. Can someone explain them?

I would like to know also XD

I’m not sure if anyone else knows, but for me, my open exam score results are up! Might want to check you own as well!

Same as above. Hope I see you guys at semis.

wooooo, what’s the cutoff?

I’m not sure what the cutoff is, but I would guess most likely around 25-26? I’m basing it off of previous years (looking at the 2012 histogram right now).

It’s for sure below 29.5

CEE is so random…

:-* 28.5

the cutoff is 28.5

Total registered students, 7766.
Highest score is 43.75.
624 semifinalists

@xiaorui Where did you get the stats from?

@Radulae ask your teacher. :))

WHOO anyone else get into the forties?

My friend’s son got 43.25 =D>

Nice. 41 here
