i’m slightly paranoid right now. I’m scared that this isn’t my actual score and they just made a mistake.

Ugh, last year they made everyone semifinalists and everyone was happy… Until we found out that the cutoff was actually 25 and tons of people got their statuses changed back (including me)

i feel you

28.5 :O. Hopefully that makes the cutoff! It doesn’t seem like it’s ever been 29+ but we never know.

I honestly had no expectations of being a semifinalist. I’m a senior slackoff syndrome sufferer (nice alliteration?) in AP Bio, AP Physics B, and AP BC calc but I’m no science wiz and I didn’t study at all besides looking over a practice test before the open exam. My AP bio class is really rigorous and good at my school though so I definitely was well prepared. If I’m a seminfinalist, how should I prepare for the exam? I have a really great memory, as I’m an English person who memorized all the SAT reading words easily and got a perfect, and I’ve got some time to spare now so any help would be appreciated. Good luck everyone!

um, with so little time left, the best thing for you is probably just to review campbells

lol cutting it a bit close perhaps?

■■■■ it i’m going to ditch school for a week to study

hey do any of you have spring break the last week of march?

Who needs school anyway? Bio study sesh FTW

Is anyone else having trouble seeing their scores? It still says that they are not available…

wait, so is it 100% confirmed that 28.5 is the cutoff?? It doesn’t say the cutoff on their home page like it did last year.

the score cutoff is 28.5

… it said the cutoff on their homepage last year? Apparently this year only teachers can see the cutoff. Everyone try contacting your teachers to see if they can see the cutoff

But shouldn’t the status tell you whether you’re a semifinalist or not?
Unless you’re just curious what it is.

Are you serious??? Does it really say whether you’re semifinalist next to status? I got a 28. Gosh I am so mad right now.

@chrism, I think it was a fluke, unfortunately. but thanks.
Luckily, I have spring break next week for studying. Time to speed read Campbell again…

How are you guys seeing your scores?

Go to www.usabo-trc.org, and use the number you should’ve gotten from registration in the upper right hand corner, along with your password. Go under “Student Resource Center,” and then “Exam Scores.” It should have your Open Exam score, and whether you made semifinals.
Edit: I had to search through four months of emails to find the number, though, so be warned. If you’re having that much trouble finding the registration number, your teacher should have it.

Do you guys like to take notes while you study or do you just read it and hope to retain what you have read?

Taking notes slows me down and sometimes I’m afraid I’ll miss important info.
Personally I’d rather just read through really fast and multiple times.
