yeah the science was IMPOSSIBLY hard. I got it done but i guestimated on a bunch of them...
also, is the ACT scored on a curve? like if everyone does bad on science (on ave., obviously some will do really well, but the concensus here is that it was really hard) will it be curved according to other scores?
probably not, just wondering...

when r scores online?

i think max you can miss and still get a 30 this time is 5-7 on science.

0-2 on English (finished about 6 minutes early; too lazy to check most answers)
0-2 on Math (finished about 15 minutes early; checked answers 16-60)
2-4 on Reading (finished just on time cause I misgridded the entire thing by skipping #10 at first)
0-2 on Science (finished like 7 minutes early; too lazy to check most answers)

then u prob failed science : )

Haha thanks for the vote of confidence.

Btw I got (0, rt2, 1) for the cube
3 for the circle with n points
log3(x^2/z) + log6(rt(y))
focused his efforts on

Did anyone get Zone A for one of the science questions in the first passage? I wasn't too sure about it.

what was the essay prompt? PM me if you don't feel like posting it. (I didn't take the ACT today)

Yeah i got all those and zone a. Great minds think alike

what did you guys put for the largest circle that can fit so all points will be inside the circle...

i think i put 10

YES, the ACT is curved. The February science section was difficult but i ended up getting a 34 on it, with 4 wrong

10 wasn't a choice. I said 40 it was the smallest. That was the one with a height of 80 and a lower base of whatever choice E was (the only one greater than 100).

I put 40

The height of the tapezoid was 80, while its shorter width was 100 and longer width was... well, longer than 100 units. So the shortest distance across was 80, which would be the diameter of an inscribed circle, so the radius had to have been 40.

Wait... I may have been 80 and not realized they asked for the radius... damnit

I put 40..science test and reading tests blow!
I think I saw the essay topic in a practice book

I got all of the answers posted accept for ON, which I can't exactly remember the question for (or in other words: I got it wrong).

For the record I hated that essay prompt. It didn't give any specific privileges - it said any privileges given only to seniors. That could mean allowing seniors to take two study halls while mandating other students to take only 1. D:

I couldn't think of a way to either agree or refute that so I qualified. :

aim: acttoday

this is the chat room

He focused his skills ON.
I put 3 for the dots on the circle, and 40 for the radius of the trapezoid circle, both of which I think are the right answers.

I blind guessed on so many for science.

4 wrong and a 34 is very reassuring though. Hopefully my science score will be above 20.

it asked for the largest radius i think

and how did you do number 60 on math?

Is the ACT like the SAT in the fact that they grade the essay predominantly on length?

theoneo: I agree about the essay prompt. Not really a topic that can be discussed to length.

I got to halfway through the third page, which was really more than what needed to be said about the topic.
