dh1234, the question said that the ratio of a rectangle’s length to perimeter is 1:3. What is the ratio of the width to length?
That means that the other length side, 1, leaves just 1 (3-2) to comprise of both width sides. Each width is 0.5 then. 0.5/1 is equal to 1/2 and so it would be 1:2.

I meant the one with the slopes. Please elaborate about that one

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh dangit I must’ve read it wrong then.

@poppers I remember putting 0 for that one though I don’t remember the passage too well. I think it was asking for the sum of the two slopes? And it said the absolute values of the slopes were equal but negative of each other?

I put 0 as well for the absolute value slope thing.

absolute value function y = m|x| + b

described as 2 rays with the same endpoint.

The slope of one ray is m. What is the sum of the slopes of the 2 rays.

-1, 0, 1, m, 2m

yea the sum of the slopes was 0, since -m + m = 0

What is the sum of the slopes of an absolute value graph?
For the sum of the slopes problem, I my answer was 0. This is because the absolute value graph looks like a symmetrical “V”. I’ll solve this problem here.
The equation of the graph is y= |x|.
One line has points 1, 1; 2, 2;, 3, 3; etc., so the slope is 1/1, or 1. The other line has points -1, 1; -2, 2; -3, 3; etc., so the slope is 1/-1, or -1. 1 + (-1) = 0.

The seed question showed the number of seeds in a stem-and-leaf plot, and asked for the mode. The answer ended in 9… either 19 or 29, I don’t remember. But that observation had frequency 3.

Curve Predictions anyone? What do you think the score would be for 8 wrong?

magnificent6,
what was the exact question for that one? I think I got 6

Hard Curve:
-0 36
-1 35
-2 34
-3 33
-4 33
-5 32
-6 31
-7 30
-8 30
-9 29
-10 28

Soft Curve:
-0 36
-1 36
-2 35
-3 34
-4 34
-5 33
-6 33
-7 32
-8 31
-9 31
-10 30

It will probably be in between those two somewhere.

aww dangit, i hope i made only 2 mistakes or less

I definitely missed 2. I think the math questions were pretty easy overall- no especially hard trig identities. My guess is that -2 will be a 34.

Feeling good about this ACT!! Hopefully I can break the 35 streak i’ve been getting haha :p

bumping for feedback

Bump bump bumparoo
