OFFICIAL ACT Scores Thread - April 2009

English:35
Math:28 (***, guess I should take precalc before the next ACT lol)
Reading:34
Science:31
Composite:32- really happy for first time!

I was wondering how bad it would look to have a good composite (34) with just a decent math (29).

I feel like I could do better, but is it really necessary?

This is just my S experience; will not apply in all situations.

My S had a 34 composite with a 29 science. He was selected as a Presidential Scholar (one of 25) at our flagship state U. He is going to college for free, and its a good college. He also had very strong SAT scores and is NMF. I suspect his essays were strong, because there were no recommendations required, he only has 2 AP classes, although he has a high GPA.

If you thought you could pull up your math it might be worth it though.

composite 35
english 35 (what did I miss?? I thought this of all of them would be perfect)
math 34
reading 36
science 34

Reading 30
Math 26 (ouch!)
Science 25 (I didn’t understand the last two passages so yay!)
I want a 30 so bad!

I love how on my math subscores, I got like a 6 on the easy math and a 12 on the more difficult stuff. What the hell is wrong with me?

lol, illinois, i didn’t understand like 2-3 passages either, so i was pretty happy with my 26 in science, heh :p

E: 35
