@hannaners: no I feel super underprepared as well. Gonna start trying to pull all nighties this weekend and see what other things I can cram. I’ve been joking with my friends that we’ll all get 2s, but at this point I’m honestly scared. Why did they have the change the exam this year… :(

hey so apparently there was some problems and they were short on one exam at my school… now i’m writing it on the 24… when are u guys writings hrs?

This AP test is by far the most frustrating. The analytical mind shall prosper. That said, make connections, stay calm, and don’t frustrate yourself! Thanks CC for this opportunity

I don’t know if my teacher is just amazing (she is pretty awesome, and my favorite teacher this year), or I’m smarter than I thought I was, but I did really good on the released practice test.

My teacher made copies of the newly formatted practice test from the collegeboard and had us take it over the course of 2 days (90 monutes total). I got 50/63 on the multiple choice and 4/6 on the grid-ins.

Honestly, the test seemed WAY too easy. Its kinda hard to focus because every single question is at least a paragraph long, but the questions are actually really easy. The key is not over analyzing and going with your instincts.

I cant say anything about the FRQs as I havent seen any of those.

does anyone know how the scoring works this year?

I’m relatively new to this forum, but I’m also taking the exam this coming Monday
So my class is a dual credit class which sorta follows the AP curriculum… there’s like 6 people in our 20-person class who are taking the AP exam. The past few weeks our teacher has just been sending us to the library to read our textbook and try and get ahead of the class, we use Campbell 8th Edition. DO NOT TRY TO READ IT ALL! You won’t get through it all, and it’ll just bog you down with excess information. 3 days before the exam, I’m starting on my Barron’s book which is awesome. I originally began on Princeton Review, but like people have said, it’s like the old format.

Thank you to the poster who put the released practice exam up - saved my butt.
I took anatomy last year and freshman bio the previous year, and took chemistry and AP chemistry as well, so I have a pretty solid base. That’s a good thing, since we only got through chapter 30 in Campbell… the study guides that come with it, by the way, are amazing. Are they the Holtzclaw ones? Not sure… but if you feel like last-minute cramming, that’s a good choice because the information is concise and they outline general ideas before every single chapter.

There’s 4 choices for each multiple choice question, by the way. They definitely aren’t straight memorization anymore, more like analytical and critical reasoning… And when they say four-function calculators can be used, TI-30’s are okay, right? The square root function on them will be greatly useful for things like Hardy-Weinberg.

@colorthecoast scoring MC is like usual - point for it being right, no points deducted for not answering or getting it wrong.

Scoring on FR will be1 point for every correct statement related to the topic, 2 long-essay and 6 short-answer. You won’t be counted off for incorrect information, and no points are given for contradicting information (like if you say mitochondria are involved in respiration and then say mitochondria aren’t involved in respiration next). As long as you squeeze in as much information as you can remember, you’ll be fine. Just WRITE A LOT.

@weiscool thanks!
do you think the curve is going to be harsh this year since everyone thinks the test seems to be really easy?

Im trying to access the REA online exam but the website isnt working. is it just me? http://studycenter.rea.com/

Hi guys, i got 46 on the MCQ (I got so sick of the test, i just guessed randomly near the end because of all the reading) , and 3/6 on the Numerical response.

21/41 on the essay questions.

I have a copy of the cliffs notes prep book 3rd edition. Is it sufficient?

@hypebeast1 the college board wouldn’t release the official exam beforehand

@tspro2014 Thank you so much! Honestly, you saved my life. Good stuff!!!

Do you think it’s worthwhile to redo the practice test, now that it’s been released and then go through everything I’ve missed carefully? Or do you think the test will be completely different and these are just sample type of questions? Often the collegeboard reuses questions or uses the same questions with slightly different numbers or information.

@WritingonStars THANK GOODNESS i’m not the only one! i’m right there with ya haha canceled all my weekend plans to study wah

@jonhs123 yeah, collegeboard’s practice tests are usually the closest you can get to the actual thing. i’d definitely invest some time to do it and go over it, and then target the areas you didn’t know

our AP class uses campbell reece 6th edition, it’s a good textbook but it kinda sucks that it’s not the most recent edition :(

also this might be helpful:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B75_Ek6RAfygV3dQSldKS202VW8&usp=sharing&tid=0B75_Ek6RAfyga1dOMXVGV29XWlk

it might not be completely up to date but it has good stuff like cram packets and the full campbell-reece 9th edition text book on there

@hannaners have you seen the new updated Campbell? They completely revised the textbook for the exam and just started publishing it. My bio teacher showed us a copy last week. It’s like 1/4 the size of the old textbook D:

@WritingonStars no way which edition?

[fp7lc - Tinychat](<a href=“Live video chat rooms, simple and easy. - Tinychat”>Live video chat rooms, simple and easy. - Tinychat) Chat room for a sort-of group review!!

@hannaner I’m guessing it’s the tenth edition now since we have the ninth.

Do you guys think the exam will be just like some of the practice exam with changed numbers
